Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed November 9, 190;. Serial No. 461,700.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it knownthat I, HATTIE'C. Lssmma citizen of the United States of America. residing at Duquesne, in the county of Allegheny and, State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain neu and useful Improvements in Interior Decorations, of which the following is a specification. reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to interior decorations, and the primary object of my invention is to provide a neat and attractive Wall laceration wherein lights or lamps are used for illuminating and enhancing the appearance of a picture.
Another object. of my invention is to use draperies for setting-oil a picture having; an illuminated foreground, thereby producing a distant and realisticletl'ect in connection with the picture representing 'a piece of scenery. v
A further object of my invention is to provide a novel mounting for pictures that can be advantageously used in art galleries for producing correct shading and light effects in connection with a work of art.
With the above and other objects in View which will more readily appear as the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction. combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter described and then specifically claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, 1 designates a wall or support provided with a recess 2. Secured to the rear wall of the recess are brackets 3 for holding a picture 4. In the recess 2 at the upper front edge thereof is arranged a reflector 5and secured to the reflector is a calcium light '6 for.

Surrounding the outer edges of the recess 2 is a. molding or frame 7, the upper portion of said frame supporting a curtain pole 8 upon which curtains or draperies 9 are ar ranged. The curtains or draperies 9 are designed to soften the glare of the calcium light 6, and to the eye, present a pleasing effect as a decoration, and as-an imitation of a window from which the painted scene might be viewed.
