Be it known that I, WILLmM II.' WMD, e citizen of the United States of America, residing et Rice, in the county of Benton and State of Minnesota, have invented new end useful Improvements in Streiners, owhich the following is u svecilicetion.

This invention reletes'to streiners designed more perticulerly for 'straining milk, end one 1o ofthe principal objects of the seme is to provides. strainer, the parts of which ere readily detachable for cleaning purposes.

Another' object of the invention is to provide e. strainer in which cheese cloth or other retieuleted fabric muy be used es the strainint;I element und thus permit the seme to loe readily cleaned after use, the perts of the strainer being also detachable for cleaning the seme.

Stili another object of the invention is to provide :t strainer in which the milk will he required to pass through u number of screening elements of different degrees of lineness.

'lhe operation of my invention muv be briefly' described as f0lloivs:--'l`he milk is poured into the easing 1 outside the flange 10, the milk passing down through the openings 8 und from the chamber a, pussin inward through the openings 12, end 2reni. thence down through the streiner members 18,'21 endf22. Any milk which muy be poured into the center portion would he required to poss through the reticuleted element 13, end thence down through the strainer-L After the straining operation, ell the parts ofthe strainer may be detached, end the fubric used may he thoroughly wshed for reusing. i

From the foregoing it will be obvious that e strainer inode in accordance with my invention will thoroughly struin the milk, und that thestreiner moy be rendi!` teken eport for' cleaning, the retlouleted tu ric straining elements being quickly cleansed und ready for reuse.

A strainer comprising un outer cesing, e strainer ring supported upon the upper edge of seid casing and provided with e strainer element consisting of en inclined perforated well having reticulated febridunder the openings therein und en upturnod annuler flange, u hollow cylindrical strainer element provided with e series of openings covered with retieuleted fabric, und e series of strainers in the lower end of the casing.
