over the leaves of a book, more especially of a music book held on a piano raclr, and oi the type in which centrally operated turning arms having clips to grip the sheets are released intermittently from a catch holding them at one side of the rack.
The object of the invention is to simplify the construction oi the leaf clips and the release gear and to render the latter adjustable, so as to remedy certain defects which have been found to make such an apparatus diiiicult of operation in practice.
The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention.

Pressure on the cup Z of the le er whether by a puff of breath from the player, or by a touch of the finger, will turn the spindle U and consequently the cam T and will thereby remove the projecting portions of the cam away from the path of one of the arms such as B, which will thereupon turn over to the left carrying its leaf with it. By another puff, or touch, each of the other arms is also caused to turn over taking the sheet with it, until all the sheets are turned. Though shown with four arms it is clear that any larger number of arms desired may be arranged for. It will be seen that hen one of the projecting edges of the cam T is removed from one arm the other projecting edge 7) will temporarily-catch the succeeding arm and hold it until a is again in place for so doing.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry a book, spring operated pivoted arms carrying sheet clips, a release cam. mounted on a spindle, a coil spring attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to a stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle, a rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, and a screw in same connecting it with the flexible bracket, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry a book, spring operated pivoted arms carrying sheet clips, a release cam mounted on a spindle having a segment cut out, a stop piece on the flexible bracket operating in the said segment, a coil spring attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to a stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle, rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, and a screw in same connecting it with the flexible bracket, substantially as described herein.
3. In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry a book, spring operated pivoted arms carrying sheet clips, a release cam mounted on a spindle, a coil spring attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to a stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle, a rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, a screw in same connecting it with the flexible bracket in order to adjust the latter, a loose collar 011 the cam spindle carrying the stationary end of the coil spring and provided with holes in its periphery, and a screw carried by the rigid bracket for adjusting same, substantially as described herein.

In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry a book, spring operated pivoted arms carrying sheet clips, an independent bearing bracket for the spring operated pivoted arms, a release cam mounted on a spindle having a segment cut out, a stop piece on the flexible bracket operating in the said segment, a coil sping attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle a rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, a screw in same connecting it with the flexible bracket, a loose collar on the cam spindle carrying the stationary end of the coil spring and provided with holes in its periphery, and a screw carried by the rigid bracket for adjusting same, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
6. In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry a book, spring operated turning arms having sheet clips with extended bottom portions, distance pieces therebetween, springs between the two arms of the clip, a catch for securing all the clips together with their sheet ends open, a release cam mounted on a spindle, coil spring attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to a stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle, a rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, and a screw in same con necting it with the flexible bracket, substan tially as described herein.
7. In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry book, spring operated turning arms having sheet clips with extended bottom portions, distance pieces there between, springs between the two arms of the clip, a cat-ch for securing all the clips together with their sheet ends open, a release cam mounted on a spindle having a segment cut out, a stop piece on the flexible bracket operatin in the said segment, a coil spring attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to a stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle, a rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, and a screw in sarne connecting it with the flexible bracket, 1 substantially as described herein.

In a leaf turner, and in combination, a framework to carry a book, spring operated turning arms having sheet clips with extended bottom portions, distance pieces therebetween, springs between the two arms oi the clip, a catch for securing all the clips to gether with their sheet ends open, a release cam mounted on a spindle having a segment cut out, a stop piece on the flexible bracket operating in the said segment, a coil spring attached at one end to the cam and at the other end to a stationary part, a flexible bracket carrying the cam spindle, a rigid bracket adjoining the flexible bracket, a screw in same connecting it with the flexible bracket in order to adjust the latter, a loose collar on the cam spindle carrying the stationary end of the coil spring and provided with holes in its periphery, and a screw carried by the rigid bracket for adjusting same, substantially as described herein.
