PEOTOGRAPEIC CARDHOLDER The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part o! the lama.

To all 'zr/'homy it may concern Bc it known that I, WILLIAM E. EAsrnAN, of Dcrby Line, in the county of Orleans, and State of Yermont, have invented certain Improvements in Holders for Cards, Photographic and other Pictures, of which the. ihllowing is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the aompanying drawings, making part oi this specification, in which- Figure 1 is u plan representing one oi' the forms or patterns given to a sheet; oi' paper or other material employed in making my improved holder for cards, pictures, &c.

Figure 3 is en enlarged section on the line o i' oi" ul inroseiiof: sists in a holder for cards, photographie und other piet-uren, die., provided with two or more openings for the reception oi' two or more ards or pictures, and made in one and the same sheet, of any suitable material, folded in its middle, in order that one halloi the sheet may serve as aJ flap or'cover for the other half of the sheet; and

My invention also consists in forming a slit wiliin the middle of the inner heli' of the sheet, on the. line upon which this portion of the shoot is folded, to prevont the inner edges of the openings for the cards, Sie., from springing outward therefrom when the card-holder is in use, by which construction I :nu enabled to so economze the stonk as to provideI a lfolder for two or more cardslor pictures, at cousidcmhiy less than half the expense of twice the number of hoiders for single cards when prorided with iiaps.

To enable others skilled in the art to understand and use my invention, I will proceed to describe the manner in which I have carried it; out.

In iig. l of the said drawings, A represents a sheet oi paper or other suitable material, out to the desired pattern for forming the card-holder of the required size, the portion a of which holow the red line il: w is provided with a narrow longitudinal slit, b, and two openings B C, for exposing the oard to view when in the card-holder, the operation ot' making which will now he described.

The corners and edges 4, 5, 6, and 7, 8, 9 of the half or portion a of the sheet are run over with a thin coating of paste, or other glutinous substance, and the portion c is then folded on the line w w down upon the portion o, after which the corners and edges 4, 5, 6, and 7, 8, 9 are turned on their respect-ivelines :c zond y y, down upon the hack or outside of the portion c, to which they are securely stuck.

ily the foregoing construction, it will he soon that two cords may he iii-orteil in place between tho two portions` a und e, at the lines :n l5. le, Il 1l, of the former, in a convenient. and. expedia. no manner, amd a two-cord holder (in which one card and its haelt oorveas a flap or cover for the other) be provided with no more labor than that requin-,d to make o single card holder ith one or more ilaps; and, furthermore, my two-cord holder may he furnished :it a less oost than two separate holders for single cards, owing to the stock economizod in cutting the form or pattern required for this purpose..

Ulu'imx. W'hat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A holder for cards, photogmphic and other pictures,

&c., provided with two or moreopenings, for the reoeption of two or more cards or pictures, and made in one and the same sheet, folded iu its middle, suhsiantially as and for the purpose setforth.
