will subserve the purpose of an ellicient and convenient manner.
A further object of the invention is to providc an information card or folder bearing a map, a parcel post rate table and indicator, and a zone compass by means of which the user of the card may indicate upon the amp the parcel post zones with relation to the particular place in Whichhe is domiciled.
A still further object of the invention is to provide an. indicator card or folder which may be readily transmitted through the mails.
The invention consists of the features of I construction, combination and arrangement of parts herein fully described and clain'led, reference being had to the accompanyingz drawings in which Figure 1 is a face View oil-the information card or folder as opened and disposed in:
Fig. 9 is a view of the card or foldrw as disposed for transmission through the mail.
Fig. 3 is a section on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged detail section on the line 1 4 of Fig. 2.
Fig. 5 is an enlarged detail section on the line 5--5 of Fig. 1.
i Fig. 6 is a detail View of the zone compass strip detached. i
In carrying my invention into practice I provide a folder consisting of an oblong rectangular sheet 1 of cardboard or other suitable material, which card is adapted to be folded along weakened lines 2' and 3, so
' as to provide a'central portion 4 and side portions or flaps 5 and 6. By'this construc tion theside portions-0r fiaps 5 and 6 may be folded inwardly in overlapping relation to adapt the device for transmission through the mail. The outer side of the flap 6 is preferably pro Jided with tin-address form in which may to inscribcril the address name and address of the person to whom. the card. or folder is to ac transmitted, and the card or folder may )0 held in compact form for shipment by IYHHJIS of' a clip 7, as shown in Fig. 2, or other suitable means. A. mail order or other business house may there-- fore employ the device as an advertising medium and supply the same to its customers through the mail. The portion 4 .may he providr d with an outlet 8 that the card when spi ead open may be hung for ready observation of the matter upon its inner face.
Printed or ctherwise provided upon the inner of t 10 card is a map 9, covering or any desired portion of: the United States, which n rap is of a size for convenient use, and prefer ably extends across the purtions 4t and 6 in such a manner as to leave marginal. top :1 ndbottom spaces 10 and 11 which. may bear suitable advertising matter. The face of the portion 5 has printed or otherwise proi ided thereon a parcel post rate card or ta ile 13 which-is also centrally disposed so as to provide top and bottom spaces 13 and A, which may bear advertismg or other natter. In the present iu-' however, the space 14 is shown as printedthereon the month tables of a year or calendar, and it will of course he imdcre tood that in lieu of advertising matto: iniiormatiui of any desired kind may be printed in the iforosaid spaces, or that any sri(jai-.to'd kind of advertising information emitter may-be imprinted therein The parcel post rate table 12 may he of ordinary type aid embody columns as follows, a column 15 denoting weights, a. col-- un'ni'ifi indicating local none amounts of postage, and er itahle columns 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 23, (ontaining indications of rate of postage for the outside zone, from 1. to
8, iiwlusive, in accordance with estal'ilished parcel post icgulations. An indicating slide 21 is prodded for movement over the table so that its upper edge may be disposed to bring: indicating items in the respective columns into ti ansverse registry, so that the amount of postage required upon a 1321].061
of any certain Weight sent to any certain point in any Zmc may he readily and con vcniently determined. As shown, the indicator 52-1 compiises a strip of cardboard or" other suitable material attached by a pair of superposed. spaced tapered fasteners 25 to the card, which fasteners extend through a guide slot 26, thus slidahly mounting the indicator strip in! adjustment over the rate lal lflbw it will he llIl(ll-lf-l()(l. oi course, that a device of this haracter may be supplied through "statioueev or other stores to' perwas who desire in use an instrun'ient of this haracter which will give/the kind of informalion set Forth, hut it is of particular va ue to mail order houses, and otl'ier large 'llLlHlHeHs concerns which rouslantly ship goods to customers in dilierr-wnt sections of the country. 'flhese information cards or folders may therefore he sold or furnisl'ie-d gratis to such c ;ton'iers, and may he sent l.l!l 1li Ll lhe mails in the manner described. To this end I pro- L vide a zone com jiass or marking device '27,

A person receiving the card and living at some certain place say Deadwood, N. .l)alc., and doing business with a house in some other state, say the city of Chicago, Ills, hy detaching the strip, passing a pin throiiigh the opening 29 and into the map at the point where Deadwood is printed, and passing the point of a land pencil successively through the openings 28 only, by moving the strip around thepin as a pivot,'inscril)e upon the map the line circles indicating the zones, which will he at the proper distances from each other, shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1. lhe usermay then readily determine the zone relationship of Deadwood and Chicago and the rate of postage on parcels of ditien ent weights between said points.
I claim An information card of the character de scribed comprising a sheet comp d. o" three portions, forming a center section one two side sections, toldahle on div 'on lines and adapted to he secured in folded tone for mail. transmissirm, the center and one of said side sections bearing upon the innor faces thereof a map having various post-- oflioes indicated thereon, and the other side section bearing upon the inner facethereof a scale of postal zone-rates and a movable indicator for cooperation therewith, Whereby the rate of postage between any'two postoflices indicated on the map according to the zone of one with relation to the other may be determined, and ,an indicator car-- rate indication, the second-named side sec- In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
