BOLTLESS PLOWSHARE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MATrnAs HAGERUP, farmer, of the village of Hanley, in the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boltless Plowshares, of which the following is the specification.
My invention relates to plow shares and the object of the invention isto provide means which will allow of ready adjustment of the share to the plow, doing away with the bolts heretofore employed.
It consists essentially in a share adapted to fit to the mold board and to the landside, releasable clamping means securing the share to the mold board; and means interconnecting it with the land side, the parts being arranged and constructed as hereinafter more particularly described.
Figure 1 is an inverted perspective view of the share, the mold board, and land side, showing them attached. Fig. 2 is a per spective view showing the plow with the land side towards the observer. Fig. 3 is an inverted view of the plow, the share being shown in a disconnected position.
In the drawings like numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure.
l is the land side the forward end of which is brought to the usual point at 2, such end being partially cut away, as at 3, to form a joint for the projecting portion carried by the share, as later described.
4 is the mold board which is fastened in the usual manner to the land side and of the usual shape, and 5 is a brace or tie rod pass ing between the land side and the mold board.
6 is a plate firmly fastened to the under face of the mold board and it extends slightly beyond the edge 7 of the mold board in order to form a rest or brace for the upper edge of the share.
8 is a forked plate secured also to the mold board immediately to the side of the plate 6, and the forked end of the plate extends beyond the edge 7 of the mold board.
9 is a share having the upper edge 10 adapted to engage with the edge 7 of the mold boardg 'lhe share is provided with a Specification of Letters Patent.

downwardly extending portion 11 which passes from the point of the share and is adapted to fit against the point of the land side which, as before stated, is cut away to receive it.
12 is a bent pin extending from the rear edge of the portion 11, and 13 is a curved opening formed in the land side adapted to receive the pin.
14 is an eye bolt secured to the inner face of the share and placed so that when the share is in position for using it will pass between the forked ends of the plate 8. 15 is a hook secured to the latter plate and designed to engage with the eye when it is received between the forked ends of the plate. It will be understood that the plates 6 and 8 are both curved to fit the continuous curve of the share and the mold board.
In placing the share on the plow the pin is inserted within the opening and the share is closed over till it engages with the edge 7 of the mold board. This brings the eye within the forked end. of the plate and as soon as the hook is closed with the eye the share is secured to the plow. It will thus be seen that by my invention a most convenient and ready means for attaching the plow share to, and removing it from the plow is provided, owing to its simplicity and rigidity, which amply fulfils the purpose for which it is designed.
W hat I claim as my invention is:
1. In a boltless plow share the combination with the land side and the mold board, the said land side having a forward projecting end piece, of a share having a downwardly directed portion adapted when in closed posi tion to rest against the projecting portion of the land side; a curved pin carried by the downwardly extending portion and adapted to pass into a curved o ening provided in the land side; and releasa le clamping means for securing the share to the mold board, as and for the purpose specified.
2.
