To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, WALTER A.'OLIVE, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Indianola, in the county of Warren and State of Iowa, have invented a'certain new and useful Copy-Holder, of which the following is a specification.

'The object of my invention is to provide' a copy-holder of simple, durable and inex-' pensive construction designed to be placed upon a table or other horizontal support and to hold a sheet of paper, or a number of sheets of paper, at any desired angle, so that the user may readily read the notes upon the n sheet of paper and so that the paper will be.

Referring to the accompanying drawings,

At its upper portion is a substantially cylindrical recess 19 and in this recess is a paper holding arm 20, of substantially the same outline as the wire paper holder herein described.

: In practical use with either form of the invention and assuming that it is desired to hold a single sheet of-paper, then the op erator bends the paper along a longitudi nally central line and places the lower central portion of the sheet of paper between thepaper holding arm and the adjacent side of the body portion as clearly shown in Fig.

In the form shown in Figs. 1 and'2, the paper holding arm may be moved in the slide 14: to and from. the adjacent side of the body portionlO, hence, by this arrangement the devlce. maybe adapted for holding a single sheet of paper at any desired angle, and it may also beadapted for holding a book or a large number of sheets oztpaper.

I claim as my invention.

1. An improved copy holder, comprising a body portion having a recessijn' its top,

and an arm lin said recess extending upwardlyand toward one side of the recess.

2.- An improved copy-holder, comprising a body portion having a recess in its top,- and an arm insaid recess extending upwardlyand toward one side of the recess, said arm being slidinglysupported.

An improved copy holder, comprising asheet metal body portion, with its walls holder eatendsfupwar'dly andat an obtuse j tapered toward its upper end, a horizontal partition therein spaced apart from the top and having an opening therein a guide on said partition, and a single piece of Wire doubled at its central portion and having its ends slidingly mounted in said guide, said Wire being extended upwardly from the partition and toward one side of the body and then downwardly to a point below the top I of the body, substantially as and for the I purposes stated. 10
