No. 902,771. Specification of To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ALFRED STANGE, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of No. 45 Dresdenerstrasse, Coswig, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Toy for Children, of which the following is a specification.

The object of the present invention relates to a toy for children and consists of a gun, its novelty being, that series of shots in form of peas or the like, can be discharged by turning a crank, whereby a mechanism loads the gun automatically.

The accompanying drawing shows a form of construction of the invention.

Figure 1 gives a side-view of the toy connected with an ammunition box. Fig. 2 is a section of the mechanism, Fig. 3 represents a longitudinal section through the same. The mechanism of the gun consists of the gun barrel a having a funnel-pass b which serves as a magazine for the loading. Underneath the funnel a short tube 0 for feeding the projectiles to the gun is arranged.

I claim: In a toy for children the combination of a gun having a barrel provided with a slit, a casing 011 this gun, a funnel in this casing, a short tube situated underneath said funnel, a piston in the said barrel, a drawingrod having notches and connected with the said piston, a slide attached to the said rod, a catch-piece having a tappet adapted to enter into the above-mentioned slit of the barrel, a spring attached to the said catchpiece, springs situated in "the said casing and fastened to the above-mentioned drawing rod, a crank supported in the said casing adapted to move the rod, a turnable bar in the casing adapted to enter into one of the said notches for preventing reloading the gun before a discharge, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
