GAME BOARD APPLICATION FILED MAR. 20, 1908.

l n zoom UNITED STAIEIS PATENT OFFICE.
MARTIN OHRISTOPHERSON, OF GRAFTON, NORTH DAKOTA.
GAME-BOARD.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARTIN CHRISTOPHER- SON, a citizen of the United States of Amerida, residing at Grafton, in the county of Walsh and State of North Dakota, have invented new and useful Improvements in Game-Boards, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to game boards, and one or" the principal objects of the same is to provide a game board of simple construction and in which the game to be played thereon will require both skill and experience and which will be entertaining and interesting.
Another object of the invention is to pro ride a game board comprising a table and a surrounding flange or cushion against which a ball or marble is projected and a series of wickets, sockets and holes through which the ball may run to make various counts in playing the game.
lhese and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which,
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a game board made in accordance with my inven tion and showing the ball or marble 011 the spot ready to start the game. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates the table portion of the game board, and 2 is the flange or cushion against which the ball 3 is projected in playing the game. The table 1 is provided with a series of ball seats or concavities 4, each of which may be marked with suitable numbers to which the player will be entitled in the game, provided the ball comes to rest in one of said ball seats. A series of wickets or arches 5 disposed at difiterent angles are secured to the table portion 1 of the game board.
The cushion 2 is curved in the are of a circle and is provided with oppositely disposed apertures 6 of a size suflicient to permit the ball 3 to pass through the same, while the Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed March 20, 1908.
Patented Oct. 27, 1908.
Serial No. 422,325.
two flanges 7 converge from the outer ends of the cushion 2 backwardly, and the ends 8 of said flanges terminate at a point near the spot for the ball 3. Guide pieces 9 are disposed upon opposite sides of the ball spot, and a series of holes 10 are formed in the flanges 7 of a size suflicient to permit the ball 3 to pass through the same. These holes may be used to set back the player in the game whenever the ball 3 passes through one of them.
From the foregoing it will be obvious that a game board made in accordance with my invention may be used to play a game requiring considerable skill in manipulation of the ball 3 by projecting it with the finger against the cushion 2 and permitting it to rebound and enter any of the ball seats 4: or to pass through any of the wickets 5 or the holes 6 or 10 and to be counted as required in playing the game.
My game board is of simple construction, and the game played thereon has been found very entertaining and requiring considerable skill on the part of the players.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is
1. A game board comprising a table having a series of concavities or ball seats therein, a series of wickets secured to the table at different angles, a curved flange or cushion against which the ball is projected and converging flanges, said cushion and flanges having suitable holes therein.
2. A game board comprising a table portion having ball seats and wickets thereon, a curved cushion provided with ball holes and converging flanges provided with guards at their terminal ends.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
MARTIN CHRISTOPHERSON.
