This invention relates to toldable tables, and has for its object to provide a novel mounting-of the legs to enable convenient 'f olding thereof against the bottom of the table, and also to provide for effectually bracing the legs when set to their support 111;; position.

Further objects and. advantages will ap pear in the following description, it being understood that various changes in form, proportions and minor details of construction n'iay be'resortcd to within the scope oi the appended claims.

The present table includes a top 1, longi tndinal side rails 2 rigidly connected to the underside of the top and end cross rails 23 which are mortised into the inner "faces oi the side rails 2, at 4-, there being an intermediate cross bar or cross rail 5 also prefcral'ilv mortised into the side rails, as shown in Fig. 1.

The drawer approximates the lengths of the bars so as not to interfere withthe folding of the legs when the drawer is'pushed inwardly to its limit which is governed by means of the shoulder 22 at the front end oi each groove 20, said shoulder being designed to engage the front end of the adjacent bar and thereby limit the inward movement oi the drawer.

Suitable stop shoulders 23, such wooden pins depend from the side at the drawer adjacent its rear end so as to contact with the front longitudinal rail or the table to prevent entire withdrawal of the drawer, as indicated by the dotted lines in Fig. 3 ol the drawing.

In Fig. 6 there is illustrated a modified form of connecting bolt for securing the legs in operative or supporting positilm. in this form of the device a bolt 10 is pro ided with an angular arm 24 having an enlarged head 25. adapted to prevent accidental displacement from the hinge member 11, the parts being otherwise the same as the construction illustrated in Fig. l of the drawing.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is:

l. A table comprising a top continuous lon itudinal side rails rigidly secured to the tab e top, cross rails permanently secured to the opposite ends of the side rails, a plurality of sets of terminal and intern'iediate legs connected by cross heads and pi votally sup ported uponthe side rails, the cross head of the intermediate set of legs being provided with an angularly disposed cleat having a pin and slot connection with the adjacent side rails,'the cross heads and legs of the terminal sets being arranged to fold laterally against the bottom of the table and the legs of the intermediate set being arranged to fold upon one of the terminal sets of legsffi an intermediate cross rail rigidly secured to the side rails, and bracing means carried by the cross rails and engag ng the cross heads for holding said legs in supporting position.

2. A table comprising a top continuous longitudinal side rails rigidly secured to the table top cross rails pivotally secured to the opposite ends of the siderails, a plurality of sets of terminal and intermediate legs connected by cross heads and pivotally support'ed upon the side rails, the cross head of the intermediate set of legs being provided with an angularly disposed cleat having a pin and slot connectionwith the adjacent side rails, the cross heads and legs of the terminal sets being arranged to fold laterally against the bottom of the table, and the legs ofthe intermediate set beingarranged to fold upon one of the terminal sets of legs; an, intermediate cross rail rigidly secured to the side rails, and bracing means between the cross heads and the adjacent cross rails for holding said legs in supported position, said bracing means including a threaded pin having a clamping nut, and a hinged member loosely carried by the pin and seated in a saw kerf in one of the members to be connected, the other member being provided with a notch to receive the pin, and a fastening device piercing the hinged member in the saw kerf.
