To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, PETER SORENSEN, a citizen of the United States, and'a resident of. Brooklyn, .in the county of Kings and Stateof New York, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in ,Lamp- Guards, of which the following is a specification. l
My invention relates to guards for incandescent electric lamps, the object being .to provide a simple, strong and eflicient' device from which the lamps may be easily and quickly removed and replaced. v

'lo-these ends'lny invention consists in the details of construction and combinations of particularly described and then specified in the claims. j In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1' illustrates in side elevation a lamp-guard constructed in accordance with my invention, Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal section ofthe same on the line 00 a: on an enlarged 4 scale, the lamp being shown-in side elevation.

The handle and plate secured thereto form the supporting means of the device for the lamp and the guard. Secured to the hub 11 within the cage is a loop of spring metal 13, provided with a hole 14 centrally located witlrregard to the cage which is adapted to receive the sealed tip of the bulb of the lamp. This loop 13 bears against the end of the bulb of the lamp thus supporting this to centrally locate it and prevent the lamp from hitting the wires of the cage and being broken if the lamp should become loosened fr-omits socket as frequently happens.

\Vhat I claim as my invention is:

In' a. lamp guard, the combination of a plurality of wires forming a cage, a base provided with a central opening secured to the ends of said wires, supporting moans cmnprising a. handle and a plate secured thereto adapted to register with the opening in said base and adapted to be rrvolv-od (heroin, and inwardly projecting clamping: members formed of a single picro of metal bent over the edge of said base and adapli-d to engage said plate on bolh fares, said members being secured ends of said wires.
