URINARY APPARATUS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID GIROUARD, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Leominster, in the county of WVorcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Improved Urinary Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to appliances for the reception of urine, discharged involuntarily or otherwise, by those afflicted with urinary incontinence; and the purpose of the invention is to provide novel details of construction for a urinary apparatus, which are simple, practical and efficient in service, and adapt the device for convenient and comfortable wear upon the person continuously, if necessary, ready for instant service as occasion may require.
. The invention consists in the novel construction and combination of parts, as is hereinafter fully described and defined in the appended claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawingsforming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved urinary apparatus; Fi .2 is a trans verse sectional view, taken substantially on the line 2-2 in Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged transverse sectional view, substantially on the line 3-3 in Fig. 1.
The urinary apparatus, as shown in the drawings, consists of a receiver for voided urine, formed of pliable waterproof material, such, for example, as vulcanized rubber, that is molded or otherwise fashioned to give it proper form. Specifically considered, the receiver consists .of two similar tubular receptacles A, each having circular form and a sufiicient capacity for effective service. The ring-like hollow receptacles A, A, are held side by side, and disposed in the same plane by the integral junction walls a, a, whereby they are united and rendered as capable as if one vessel for holding liquid without leaking.

To apply the urinary apparatus, the lower limbs of the user thereof are respectively passed down through the ring-like receptacles A, A, and the latter are drawn up over thethighs with the nipple b at the front. Then the band g is buckled aroundthe body of the person, high enough thereon to adapt the hanger straps h for holding the receptacles A, A, in .position. When the patient has occasion for using the urinary apparatus, the male organ is introduced into the nipple I) through the annular flange c, which latter by its constriction, will prevent any escape of liquid from the receptacles A, A.
The improvement is of a character that adapts it for comfortable wear by invalids, aged persons, paralytics, or those suffering from diabetes or the like, that causes an involuntary discharge of urine.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
