the thread in its passage. from a bobbin to a reel, free acting and opposing, peruninent nlagnetic strippers bein, provided for the purpose, between which the thread passes, which strippers are. loosely mounted in a suitable frame and applicable to any form of winder or reel.
The. invention consists in the novel con-- struct-ion and combination of the several parts as will be. hereinafter lull) set forth and pointed out in the. claims.
Reference is to be had to the acconnianying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate. corresponding parts in all the tigures.
Figure 1 is aside elevation of the frame shown as supporting a reel and bobbin, and the improved tension guide and cleaner, and as provided with a driving mechanism for the shaft on-which the reel is mounted; Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section through the device; Fig. 3 is afront elevation of the same; and Fig. 4 is a plan view thereof.
The frame A may boot any desired construction. T hat shown consists of rear uprights 10, forward uprights supported by suitably located transverse beams, and in addition to the aforesaid parts, the said frame consists of lower side beams 11 that extend beyond the frontof the frame, upper side beams 11, and intermediate side beams 12 that also extend beyond the front of the frame. The intermediate side beams 12 are coimected by a cross bar 13 at their forward ends, and a similar cross bar 14 connects the outer ends of lower side beams 11. A "shalt 15 is mounted in suitable bearings located on the upper cross bars 11, andthis shaft carries a pulley 16 that is connected with a belt; 17, which belt passes over a driving pulley 18 on the drive shaft- 19, journa-led in the frame.
The reels )0 are located on the up er slur-it I 15 and the bobbins 21 are locatei on the and thread cleaning device or devices are adustably secured to the cross bar or beam 13- clearly shown in Fig. l. The holder or eas- 23 that is attached at its'lower ortion to the side faces of the. base 22. At t to up )Ll' portion of the forward l'aeeof each uprig it 13, a. guard flange 24 is located, and these flanges shown in Fig. 3,. and also extend from the upper edges of the said uprights 23 down ward to a. point near their centers, and the forward faces of the said guard flanges 24 are beveled in direction of the space-between them, as is illustrated at. 25 in Fig. 4. Shorter guard llalnges 26 are formed at the inner edges of the uprights 23 at their bottom portion, and these'lower flanges 26 have integral with their bottom portion, floor sect-ions 26, as is illustrated in Fig. 2.
The upper edges of the lower guard flanges shown at 27in Fig. 3, and the owcr edges of the guard flanges 24 are beveled in a downward direction. Thus it will be observed that'at the front of theholder or casing B constituting the device, a space or opening is provided, defined by the-lower edges of the 11 )per uard flanges 24, and the upper edges oi the.- lower guard flanges 26, am the-inner edges of the standards 23 at their central portions.
At the central rear ort ion of each upright 33, an oll'set 2!) is produced, as is best shown in Fig. 2, and guard flanges -30 extend from said guard flanges 30 are opposite the space between the upper and lower guard flanges at the front, as is also shown in Fi 2. A. suitable space intervenes the guard flanges 30, the space being practically of the same .width as that between the. guard flanges 24 and 26, and the outer faces of .the guard flanges 30 are beveled in the direction of the l ig. 4.
