To all ywhom it may concern.'
Be it known that l, COLEMAN Mirah wi-L'rnsn, a citizen of the United States, resid ing at Montclair', in the county of Essex and State of AYew Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Concrete P ipe, of which the following is a specificaq tlon.
My invention relates to`concrete pipes or conduits, particularly those of considerable size, constructed in sections or sectional units, as many and of such size as may be desirable or convenient, which are assembled ajnd permanently secured together-to make a chfonduit of any desired length.

The other end, designated by 8, is provided with an outer rabbct 9, the base l0 of which is of the same thickness and at the same angle to tht` of the pipe as the lip 6 of the other end. The side of the ,rabbet 9 is inwardly beveled. or tapered, as shown at 1l, the inclination and width of this beveled portionl being exactly the same as the beveled surface 7 of the other end. lt will now be seen that the ends 3 and S are of the bell and spigot tvpc respectively", and that the former cud of one section will exactly fit the latter end ,of another, clearl)vv shown in Figs. 1 and 3.
The lip or edge of the pi )e-section at the end S is tapered or beveled inwardly, as shov-"rat 12, oppositely to the beveled portion 5 of the end 3, but at the same angle to the axis of the pipe. Hence when the secr tions are fitted together the opj'iositely inclined surfaces or bevels 5 and 12, together with the outer surface 13 of the rabbct 4, form at each joint an undercut groove on the inside of the pipe, as clearly shown 'in Fig. 3.
