Be it known that I, IDA Loursn OVERALL, citizen of the UnitedStates, residing at Hous ton, in the county of Harris and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Greasing Devices, of which the following is a specification.

My invention contemplates certain new and useful improvements in culinary utensils and relates particularly to an improved greasing device for applying lard or butter or the like to waffle irons, cake or muffin pans or griddle platters and similar utensils.

The invention has for its object an improved construction of device of this character which may be cheaply manufactured and which willbe efficient in use to apply grease in the proper quantity without burning the same-with the consequent smoke and repulsiveodors and the invention. consists in certain constructions parts that I shall first hereinafter describe and then particularly point out the novel features in the appended claims.

For a full description of the invention and the merits thereof and also to acquire a knowledge of the details of construction of the means for effecting the result, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which:

My improved greasing device comprises a cup or receptacle 1, which is provided with a handle 2, and which isformedat its mouth portion with a screw thread 3.

.prevent the cloth from sliding freely out of the tube and become disengagedfrom the tube in the operation of greasing the pan, while on the other hand, the flutes permit the cloth to be easily removed by first removing the cap 4 from the cup 1 and pulling the cloth rearwardly out of the tube. The cap 4 is preferably provided with an rip-standing marginal arm or flange S,"design.ed to catch the overflow of grease, or drippings, when the device is in an upright position and not being used.

From the foregoing description in. connection with the accompanying drawing, it will simple and durable construction of greasing device.

In practical use, the butter or lard is placed in the cup, the screw cap 4 is then attached with its greasing cloth'i, and the device is then pl ced upon the stove proximity to the heat thereof as to melt the grease preparatory to rubbing the buttered end of the cloth quickly over the pan or other vessel which it is desired to grease.

Having thus described the invention, what is-clairned as new is:

As an improved article of manufacture, the herein described greasing device for kitchenv use, consistingof a receptacle, and a cap adapted to close the mouth of said re ceptacle and provided with a tube adapted to hold a greasing cloth, said cap being also provided with an. up-standingmarginal rim, as and for the purpose set forth.
