A device as described, comprising a trysquare, one member of which is ada ted for application to a siding or board an a gage or late member rovided with a longitudlnal slot, a longitudinal edge of which is provided with a series of teeth, and provided at one end, at its forward edge, with a marking point, and a pivot-bolt for said gage carrying a ratchet engaging said teeth of said gage. 6. A device substantially as described comprising a square and a gage pivotally connected at one end to the square, said gage having a longitudinal slot with one toothed edge, the pivoting bolt of the age having a pinion for adjustmg the gage cngthwise as it is turned.
