NON-REFILLABLE BOTTLE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OTTo HACHMAN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Fort Wayne, in the county of Allen and State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Improvements in Non-Refillable Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to non-refillable bottles, and one of the principal objects of the same is to provide simple, inexpensive and reliable means for preventing the refilling of bottles after the original contents thereof have been used.
Another object is to provide a simple baflle which will be placed upon the neck of a bottle to prevent the refilling of the same.
These and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view through the neck portion of a bottle and through the baflie and valve for preventing the refilling of a bottle. Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the baffle removed from the bottle, said baffle being made on a large scale. Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the baflfle. Fig. 4 is a sectional view on the line 44 of Fig. 2, looking in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Referring to the drawing for a more specific description of my invention, the numeral 1 designates a bottle which may be of any suitable size or shape, and 2 is the neck thereof.
Secured within the neck of the bottle is a baifle and valve comprising a curved upper dome 3 having a central outlet nozzle 4. Extending downwardly from the periphery of the top or dome 3 is a flange 5, and at opposite sides of this flange arms 6 extend, the lower ends of said arms being bent upwardly, as at 7. A concavo-convex disk 8 is fitted within the baffle and secured at a point coincident with the lower edge of the flange 5,
said disk 8 having an opening 9 at one side of the center thereof and a hinged flap valve 10 adapted to close the opening 9 by gravity, said valve being hinged at 11.

larly in Fig. 1, and a suitable cork or sto per 12 is fitted in the mouth of the bottle a ove the baffle.
When the bottle is originally filled and the cork 12 has been withdrawn, the tipping of the bottle will open the valve 10 until said valve strikes the stop 13. The liquid in the bottle will then flow out through the nozzle 4 and out through the mouth of the bottle. When the bottle is again righted u the valve 10 will drop to its place. The va ve 10 can only be operated by the weight of liquid in the bottle and cannot be held in an open position excepting when in an inclined or inverted position.
My invention is of simple construction, is composed of comparatively few parts which are not liable to get out of order, and the device will operate efliciently at all times.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is
1. A non-refillable bottle comprising a baffle secured within the neck of a bottle and provided with a centrally disposed outlet nozzle, a concavo-oonvex disk secured within the baffle and having a valve at one side of the center thereof.
2. A non-refillable bottle provided with a baffle having a central outlet nozzle a concavo-convex disk secured within the baffle and provided with an opening, a flap valve hinged on the top of said disk to cover said opening, and arms extending downwardly from the baffle, said arms being embedded within the neck of the bottle.
3. A non-refillable bottle comprising a baffle having a dome-shaped top, a nozzle centrally disposed in said top, a flange onv said baffle, downwardly extending legs having upturned ends, a ooncavo-convex disk secured in the baflie and provided with an opening at one side thereof, a flap valve hinged at one side of said opening, and a stop to limit the movement of said valve.
