My invention relates to that class of ice tongs formed from a single length of Wire.
The object of my invention is to form an ice tongs of a single length of Wire comprising, a handle bar formed by coiling the wire in close coils, Springs at the ends of the handle formed by coiling the wire in a plane at right angles to the handle coils, and arms ex tending downwardly and inwardly from the Springs and terminating in penetrating prongs. This object I accomplish by the construction shown in -the accompanying drawing in which the figure is a side elevation of my improved ice tongs.

It will be seen that the tight coils a form a strong` and practically rigid handle and that they also hold the Springs a' pressed firmly towards each other to thus afford extra gripping action to the tongs. The Springs a' press the gripping arms 0,2 and their points a3 together with suflicient force to cause a block of ice to be firmly and Securely gripped.
What I claim is An ice tongs formed of a single length of wire and comprising a tightly coiled handle bar; coiled springs at the ends of the bar and at right angles thereto, and arms extending from said Springs downwardly and inwardly below the handle bar and terminating in penetrating points.
