Figure 1 is a top view of a riding spur showing my invention.
1 represents the frame of an ordinary riding spur, 2 is a spur Wheel, 3 is a lateral projecting bar from the outer side of an arm of frame 1 and forms the main feature of my in vention. 4 is a brace.

the riders foot from going farther through the stirrup than is customary in riding. This lateral projection 3 may be used on the I outer side of each of the arms of the frame State of Montana, have invented a new and and at different points along the frame, but it is preferable to have it on but one side and at or near the end of the arm of the frame as shown.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

2. In a riding spur, the combination with the frame thereof of a stirrup engaging bar 3 projecting laterally and outwardly from the end of one arm of the spur frame 1 far enough to engage a stirrup; and a brace 4 supporting the outward end of bar 3 from a rearward portion of said spur frame 1, substantially as.
