To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, HARVEY S. STONE-R and BURTON STONER, citizens 6f the United States of America, and residents of Mass'illon, county of Stark, and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Im rovements in Acetylene-Gas Generators, following is a specification;
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in acetylene-gas generators, and more particularly to what may' be termed a single-tank generator, and the invention is directed to the structural improvement of acetylene generators, the P111? pose being to simplify. and cheapen such mechanism or apparatus and to render it compactinform. 1 v

The generation and supply of acetylene gas by means of this apparatus is made up of a-su'ccession of repetitions of the foregoing operation, and, as is obvious, is purely automatic. 7 f
As a'means of eliminatin any possibility of the hell 2 being elevate to a dangerous height with respect to the tank 1, a tube 23 is suspended vertically from the top of the bell between the walls of the tanks 1 and 3 with its lower end submerged in the water of said tank 1 and ap roaehmg the lower end of the 25 bell 1; and wit insaid tube, to a point above the lQJVBlOf the'water inthe tank 1, extends a vertical escape pipe 24 which leads to the atmosphere. As is apparent when the bell is elevated to a point where the lower end of said tube clears the Water, the gas rushes out,- ward through said escape pipe, thus immediately reducing the volume of gas inthe gasometer and producing a resultant lowers ingrof said bell. Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isi i 1. The combination with a gasoineter, of a generator and a carbid-holder both mounted within said gasoineter, a feed-device carried by said carbid-holder, said device comprising a rotatable feeder in 0 on communication with the discharge-end 0 said holder, a shaft rotatable with said 'feedei', a lever fixed to said shaft, and an upright vertically movable 66 red connected to said lever and adapted to be controlled in its movements by fluctuations in the volnme'of gas contained in said gasonieter.
2. The combination with a gasomet-er, of a generator and a carbid-holder both mounted within said asometer, a feed-device carried by said carbid-liolder, said device comprising i movable member of said asoineter as it descends for actuating said lever to rotate said feeder toldischarging position, and means for returning the moved parts to their normal positions with the ascent of said movable member.
