Beit known that l, JULiUs CnnrN, a citizen of the United States, residing at the borough oi' Manhattan, in the city of New York, in the 'county of New York and State of New York, `have invented certain new and useful linprovements in Toy Drums, oi which the following is a specification..
y invention relates to improvements in toys, and the object of my device is to provide a simple and instructive toy. I attain this object by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which .Figure l is a view of the device complete. Fig. 2 is a sectional View and F ig. 3 is a View of the diaphragm'.

A strip of sheet metal b having its ends bron ht 1together in a cylindrical form is provided with bent over edge sections b b2. A strip lof card-board or other non-resonant substance d is placed within the band b. The diaphragm e having its edge section e1 bent downwardly and its extreme edge section e2 bent outwardly, is placed within the band b; and a 'cylindrical band c having one edge section al inserted beneath dia hragm e within the bent over edge section b1 of the band t is held in place by pressure applied in the usual manner to the surrounding edge section of the band t. In a drum combined with a cylindiical body having an annular edge section extending outwardly, an annular band having its edge portions overturned on the inner side thereof," anon resonant band lying in Contact with the inner face of said first named band and held bysaid overturned edge portions set outwardly extending edge portion lyin in Contact with the inner face of one of sai( overturned edge portions, the edge section of said body being hel-d between said last named overturned edge portion and said diaphragm. ln testimony whereof, l have signed my name to this specification in the presence of .two subscribing witnesses, this third day of October'1907.
