Be it knownthat I, HUGH l?. LrBuAn'r, a. citizen of the United States, residingl at Troup, in the county of Smith and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful linprevenientsvin Plastic Fence-Posts, of which the following is a specifieatir-in, reference being had therein to the accompanying` drawing.

My invention relates to improvements in fence posts constructed of plastic material and to means for securing fence Wires and rails thereto.

One object of the invention is to provide a strong and durable plastic fence post which inay be produced at a comparatively lsmall eost.

Another object of the `invention is to pro vide a post of this character with means whereby either fence wires or wooden fence rails may be readily attacheeI to it.

Another object of the invention is to provide-fence rail attaching,` blocks which are entirely embedded within the body of the post so 'that they will be protected from lthe weather. v

Another objet-t of the invention is to provide an improved double loop or eye by which a fence wire may be secured to the post.

My improved fence post comprises a body 1 molded of' cement, concrete or other suitable plastic material and preferably of square or rectangular forni in cross section. lThe'l body l'is also preferably tapered longitudinally from its lower end. to its topwhich lat-V ter is rounded as shown at 2 n1 Fig. l..- Upon vopposite sides of the base or lower end of the post, l. preferably provide laterally or horizontallyl projecting ribs or flanges Il which serve to effectively anchor the post in the y Specification yof Letters Patent.

ln order to strengthen the post, I embed or niold in it a suitable reinforcing frame, .the preferred form ofwhich is clearly shown in Fig. 4.. tudinally extending strandsof barbed Wire together by blocks 4 of wood or other suitable material to which fence rails of Wood, 0r the like, may be secured by nails or similar fastening devices. The two forward. reinforcing members or strands 5, 6 are arranged upon opposite sides of the blocks 4 `and they are preferably formed of a single piece of barbed Wire by bending it upon itself at its' center to 'form the coil or loop 7 and so as to v have its two ends parallel; the lower extremities of said ends are preferably bent vat right angles andin opposite -directions, as shown at 8 in Fig. 4, and they may be of such length as,to project into the ancliorflanges 3.
