In general, the support coni rising the present invention embodies a spi er carrying a plate upon which the base of the tree rests,

In the'preferred form of the inve tion, the legs 6 are curved longitudinally so that the lower portions thereof iiare outwardly and the lower extremities of the legs are formed with the shoes or basalfilanges 9 which may be employed to secure the device to a suitable support, and which also serve to prevent injury to a carpet or other floor covering. v
