The present invention hasfor its object an internal cmnbustion engine having two cylinders and being particularly applicable for use. on motor cycles nnd motor-road vehicles generally.
The ncconipzuiying drawing shows by way of example a constructional form of motor in accordance with the present invention.
Figure l is a. sectional view through A.B of Fig. .2. Fig 2 is n front view in which the valve-boxes are shown in section; the cover of the box containing the valve driving device being removed. Fig; .3 is an exterior view of the said cover. Fig. 4 is an interior view of the some showing the valve driving devices. 'Eig. 5 is an interior and Fig. 6 an exterior view of the device carrying the elec tricnl contracts oi the iiring means.
The motor sl'iown in the drawing has two cylinders a radially arranged on the casing l) in such o. manner that the geometric axes of the cylinders are situated in alineinent reletivoly to a plane passing er )endiculerly through the driving shaft. do of the cylindersns well as their relntive distributing devices are symmetrical as regards a. lone passing through the axis ot the drivings raft;
the inlet and outletvslves ofthe two cylin dei-s being arranged in planes similar to the arranged in pairs on stationery bolts. Each of the two pistons c is connected by s rod d yith c bolt e connecting the arts of the onble ily-wheel f. The rods zi nre ivoted on bolts 5; within the pistons c. he fiywheel f which is mounted in the casing b, transmits its rotary movement to the drivingshait h of the motor on one side and on theother to a shaft i provided with a pinion Z: actuating, s toothed wheel 1 fixed on a shaft 0 and/meshing with another toothedi wheel m fixed on e'sha tt o. The pinion k and the toothed wheels I and m are inclosed in a box closed by the cover n which is fixed on the casing 11. The shafts 0 and 0 carry each s csm p arranged so as to actuate sue- Specification 01' Letters Patent.

two cylinders and oined ,by pipes u with This distributing device, to which the mixture conducted from the carburetor througlrthe pipe at. in the direotionshown by the arrow (Fig. 2),'-is-provided witha. slide vsilvew for controlling the qnantit-yof the gases entering the cylinders; The slide valve to may be actuated from driver by means of a. lever, '00,- hendle which is not shown in the drawing.
The cover it of the b0}: inclosi'ng the valve actuating'devices is provided on its outside with a ring-shaped projection zdnterruptedat 2, on which projection rests the piirt w of the device w" carrying the sparkin inter-i ruptor. This arrangement obviates t e possibility of the oil withinthe box communicating with the parts of the sparking device which is provided with a. cam 11. carried by, the shaft 0. It is very important that the oil which drops through the cover not the passage of the said shaft 0 should not penetrnte the electric contacts.
