and my invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter describedV and claimed.

In the preferred construction the frame of the screen is formed of four metallic channel pieces A mitercd to fit together in rectangular form. These channels are considerably wider than they are deep and have their sides a turned inwardly to form spaces a between the sides ofthe channels and their inturnededges. Corner braces B iit within channels A at the corners and serve to stiffen the frame. Corner braces B consist of the angular plate b shaped to t the contour of the backs .of channelpieces A at the corners and arezprovided with continuous flanges b adapted to fit into spaces a. Locking pieces C are formed of metallic channel pieces adapted to slip within the pieces A and mitered at the corners'to fit together in rectangular form. The edges vof locking pieces C are also turned inwardly and provided withlips c adapted to enga e with ribs a in the back of channel A. orner pieces D iit over the pieces A and B at the corners and 'drawn down into channels A and its inner edges turnedgupagainst ribs a2 and secured by contact between lips c and said ribs, thus stretching the cloth and securely locking it in position. At the corners the securing contact of lips c will be with rib b in locking piece B. The frame is then secured together by placing corner pieces D over the corners and securing rivets E throughvall the parts on cach side of the corner. During the` riveting ythe spaces. around the rivet holes are preferably countersunk to -secure the parts as shown in Fig. 3. Additional rivets e are passed throug pieces A and C lbetween the corners at suitable intervals depending upon the size of the screen, and suitable lips and channel springs maybe provided as desired.

While I have illustrated and described the preferred construction `of, carrying my invention into effect, this is capable of modiiication without departing from the spirit of the invention. Therefore, I do not wish to b`e limited to the exact constructionv shown in the drawings, but

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a window screen, of frame pieces consistin of a metallic strip provided with upturne edges formlng a channel; wire securing pieces consisting of a metallic stri having upturned edges forming a channe adapted to enter the frame and draw the wire cloth therein; a rib in 4the back of the channel adapted to contact with an edge of the locking piece to turn the edge 0f the Wire cloth up over the-edge of the locking piece; and means for securing the Wire securin pieces in the frame channels, substantially as specified.

2; In a window screen, the combination of frame pieces consistin of a metallic strip yprovided -with upturne edges forming a channel; wiresecuring pieces conslstlnv of a metallic strip having u turned ed es orming a channel, adapte to enter t e frame and -draw the wire cloth therein; a rib in the back of the channel adapted to contact with the inner ed e of theI locking piece to turn the edge of t e wire cloth up over the edge of the locking piece; and meansl for securing `the wire securin pieces in the frame channels, substantia ly as s ecified.

3. In a window screen, the com ination of a channel frame piece A having a rib a2; a wire securing piece C having an inturned edge provided with a lip c a gage rib a2; and means or securing piece 1n piece A, substantially as specified. l

4.
