n these eues iu View my invention consislts inthe novel features nl' consi-roel ion and combinations oi parte shown in tbe annexed drawings and hereinafter particularly described and finally recited in the claims.
Referring lo tlxo drawings in which similar reference letters designate like inirts in the several views: Figure 1. perspeciiw` View of an incubator drawer equipped with the improvements herein setlortlr. Fig. 2. an enlarged lop plan of en incubator drawer equipped with the egg-turning; rlevic s'. Fig. 3. is a. verlies-l longitudinal section on the line 3. 3 of Fig. 2. Fig. 4. is an enlarged partial, vertical, transverse section on the line 4. 4. oi Fig. 2j,- nnrl lfig. 5. is a vertical louituclinal section'illustrzrting :i modified construction of the apparatus.
The drawer is preferably oi wood and lies eide pieces l end pier-es )d r1-ull cross pieces .flu connected in nu, suitable manner with the side pieces A.
The :ticle pieces A have parallel longitudinal cilanne'lis (l. l A
Smwcuts a1 at the juuctures oi the cross pieces A with the side pieces A nccmnmndate the ends of the guide plates D.
The gnide-plnles D consists of metal strips having notches d. which accommodate the spindles e oi the rollers E. i
Rollers E, preferably oi' lWood have spindles c which p loosely in the channels a.
lfccli of the side pieces A has two channels n to minut nf placing tlie rollers al'. different heim its above tile .screen frame to allnpt the rollers for turning eggs ol (lillercnt sizes.
lWire netting a2 is stretched on n. screen frame Ai" which is suitably socurerl to the cross ].\ioces A2.
Horizontal rollers ll lnrve pivots o which turn in holes in ille sido pieces A\ nml the pivots have squared pnrts bl which accommodate n crunk (l nso-(l in turning.: ille roller"l ll. y
llurlop F or orlior suitable ineshcrl fabric, "ecured to the rollers B null tlic fabric may lio cnnscfl lo move lcngrlliniso ol tin A(lrower null alloro lilo scrccn traum .g the om* il to wiml ilic fabric omo llie right infini or the loir l l roller es the ceso ning' be.
" 'l'reely in the channels a und nizw :outainerl in the incubator (lmnv'er.
through the notcl'ies in the cuide-plates and lit i be set in dierent notches (l to suit the number of eggs contained in the drawer.
ln practice the rollers E will be spaced to accommo date the de ired number of eggsv between the rollers and Wlicn it :s desired to turn the eggs the crank G Will be iurncfl to move the fabric lengthwise of the drawer nucl the moving of the fabric will Cause uniform turning ol the l have shown and described the fabric as situated above :ind sliding: upon the screen, one end of the fabric being connected with one ol' the rollers B afnd the other end being connected with the other roller B, but
it obvioue that an endless fabric F travelingon the lu order to set the rollers E in any desired position is only necessary to withdmw the plates D from the cnt-L1 o* sufficiently to permit the withdrawal of the spindles e from the notches d, whereupon the .position ol the rollers relative to each other inay be changed as lcsirc-nl and the plates replaced in the notches.
The operation of the apperatus is obvious from the foregoing description.
Having lully described my invention what l claim ee new nucl desire to secure by Letters `?atent is:
Il. The combination of a drawer, rollers revoluble within the dieser, means for snnportlng the rollers at different heights '.vltliln the. drawer and a movable egg-turning device cooperating with the rollers.
2. A lli-nner having longltndlnnlclianuels in the sides nl' rho drawer und :anw-cuts in the ends of the drawer adjacent to the ends of said channels, notched plates fitting in the smv-cuts of the drawer and rollers: wlllxnatlleA ing loneltnilinnl channels and end pieces liavlng anw-cults nrljnceul to ille coils of the channels ln the side piccoli, u screen mounted within tire drawer. notched plates fitting in the sanhcuts nl' the drawer, rollers turning in the noir-lien of the platen and the channels of the drawer und a fahrlc movable between said rollers and the screen.
4. The combination of n drnwcr equipped with mountv ings udoptod ro support parallel rollers at flllcrentdlslances anni-t wltliln said drawer: rollers supporlrl on said inountlnzs and revolunl'e within said clrliwer und adjunt- :rlilc relative lo ezlclx other to fir eigen oi" different sizes; :und n movable apron sni'iporlincl :un udzxpred to turn eggs siruntcil between said rollers.
in wlruess wlwrcof l hm'. hereunto subscribed my nome :il rprlngiield Illinois this ltli lily of .nnunry lflll?.
