.Be it known that I,- JAnEsA. Jac son, a citizen of the United States, residing at Iola,'in the county of Allen and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Eccentrics, of which the following is a specifications v This invention relates to shifting or changeable stroke I eccentrics adapted for useon plunger jigs for cleaning and concentrating walls, for shaking screens and the like; and one objectfof the invention is to provide a compact and efficient device whereby the throw of the eccentric may be changed while the machine is in operation, at the will of the operator; other objects of the invention are to simplify and improve the construction and operation of this class of devices.
With these and other ends in view'which will readily appear as the nature, of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the improved construction and novel arrangement and assemblage of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and particularly pointed out in the claims.

Fig. 6 is a detail plan view showing the sleeve or core mounted upon the driving shaft, the eccentric and the adjusting wedges having been removed. I provided with a spacing block 5 engaging a recess 6 inthe face of the opposing flange 3. The sleeve or core A r is provided on diametrically opposite sides with longitudinal grooves 7 extending also through the sides of the spacing block, and the flanges 3 and 3" are provided with slots 8 registering with saidgrooves. The latter afiord seats for the longitudinally slidable oppositely disposed wedges or keys -9'9 which operate through the slots 8 in the flanges of the sleeves, said keys or wedges being provided with stems or shanks 10 having laterally extending pins 11 that, engage diametrically opposite apertures in a ring 12 which is slidably dis posed upon the sleeve.
The eccentric consists of a disk 15 having a diametrical slot 16 which is suitably shaped for engagement with the spacing block 5 and the wedges 9,; said slot being provided with oblique end walls 17 as clearly shown in Fig. 10 of the drawings, for engagement with the oppositely disposed wedges; said eccentric disk being positioned between the flanges 3 and 3 of the sleeve members 2 and 2, and provided with slots 18 for the passage of the connecting'bolts 4; the eccentric is encircled by the usual band 19 from which a rod or pitman 20 extends to the part that is to be driven by said eccentric.
Suitable supports are to be provided affording bear- I ings for the shaft 1 and the sleeve A; one such support being shown at 21, the boxing 22 of which, forms a hearing in which the sleeve or core A is suitably supported for rotation, said sleeve being loose upon the shaft for rotation as will be readily understood. The boxing 22 is provided with laterally extending guide pins 23 extending through suitable apertures 24in a collar 25 which is clamped upon and securely connected with.

The opposite side members 26 of the yoke B are connected with the collar 25 by means of links 31 so that by manipulating the yoke B the collar 25 and the ,ring 12 may be moved longitudinally upon the sleeve or core A, thus effecting longitudinal adjustmentbf the keys or wedges 9 whereby the eccentric disk will be moved diametrically between the ,flanges- 3 and 3'; the part being retained in adjusted 20 thereby.
