To all whom it may concern:
\ -.4. -Be it known that I, Hun-n W. Krnss, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fluid-Motors, of which the following is a specification.
- -My invention relates; to agduplexinotor and pump each being self-contained and independently attached 4 upon a common base; whereby alternate mounting of motor or pump is permissible, likewise permitting. a change of pump-of larger or smaller capacity without disturbing the position of motor or base, rendering all the parts interchangeable.
Another object of my invention relates to the construction of the motor, pump and base so as to insure perfect alinement of the parts in assembling, all being of universal construction eliminating the adjustments of a particular motor or pump to a particular base.
. Another object of my invention is to provide the motor valves with cup-shaped packings mounted in their ,peculiar manner, forming a balanced valve, :insuring free movement of the valve without any lateral strains. Another object of my invention relates to the construction of thepump air chamber, enabling the pipe connection between the pump aiid governor to be made in a convenient and readily detachable manner.
Another object of my invention is to construct valve cylinder linings with ports through which the driving fluid is directed by the movement of the valves.
Various other features of my invention are more fully set forth in the description of the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which:-

Likewise the governor herein shown controlling the fluid pressure 'to the motor and in connection with the pump pressure for automatic control thereof, is fully described in Patent No. 813,008, issued to me dated February 20, 1906. The herein shown combined motor and pump, together with its automatic control are primarily adapted for household purposes, iifwhich the fluid pressure is water in connection with the city mains for operating the motor, and the pump is in connection with a cis- 'torn for pumping the cistern water through the house supply pipes. It is therefore desirable that the con-. sttuction be of such character as to be simple, and effective, with but few working parts and compactly ar-. ranged as the outfit is usually in the hands of mechanically inexperienced persons.

These supports3, 4, are identical in dimensions, in the same alinement and project above the marginal rim 7 of the base. This enables a series of bases to be finished in one operation and effecting proper alinement in mounting themotor and pump. i
