Description

een f' am DAVID z-INK, .0F NEW .ALBANY,iND1ANA.
LecmPamNo. 86,337, dazed' .Tammy 26,1869.
PARLOR TEN-Pm ToY.
The Schedule referred to in these Lettere Patent and making part of the same.
To all 'whom it ma/y concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID Zum, of N ew-Albany, inthe county of Floyd,`and State of Indiana, have invented a certain new and useful toy,.called Parlor Ten- Pin; and do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings,- and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a circular table, with a series of pins, knownas tenpins,'and a revolving cylinder, o'r collar, having a weight suspended from it, by which a toy is produced that I call parlor ten-pin.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appel-talus, to make and use the same, IV will new. proceed to describe its construction 'and operation, referring to the annexed drawings, which form a part of this specification, and which show a side viewof my invention.
A represents a circular table, of any required diameter, standing upon three or more legs, B B.
Around the upper edge of the table A are arranged ten pins, C C, (more or less,) of the kind and -style known as ten-pins.
At the bottom of each pin a string, a, is fixed, which is run through a hole in the table. All the strings a a,
are brought together under the centre ofthe table, and held together by a knotor button.
The strings aa should be loose enough to allowthe pins to fall down freely, and serve to pull the pins into their proper position.
In the centre of the table A is placed an upright postor pillar, D, of any required length, near the top of which is placed a hollowr cylinder or collar, E, which is of such size that it will turn freely around the pillar D, like the hub around an axle. To the outside of the cylinder or collar E is attached a string, b, just long enough to permit a `wooden or metal ball, F, fastened to the other end of the string, to strike the heads of the pins C O when the ball is swung around.
To use my invention, it is only necessary to pull the joint of the strings c a, underneath the table, and thus to set all the pins in position. When the pins are in position, the ball F, hung to the cylinder E, is swung around, striking the pins and' knocking them down.
Having thus fully described my invention,
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the table A, the swinging ball F, and the ten pins O O, all constructed and arranged substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
