Be it known that I, THEoDoR DRUZBAOH, a subj ect of the Emperor of Germany, residing at Flensburg, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination-Tables for Kitchens, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification.

' The present invention relates to improvements in tables preferably kitchen tables, which permit, that the table can be used for different purposes.

To this end a square box is journaled in the frame of the table in such a way that the four sides can be turned up flush with the surface of the table. Thus the table may present its ordinary surface or can present a board for hacking meat or a depressed surface adapted to contain water for rinsing dishes and so forth.

In the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification: Figure l shows a table with my improvements infront elevation. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section. Fig. 4 is a cross-section and Fig. 5 a plan view.

In the frame g of the table an oblong box of square cross-section is journaled with pivn ots j in bearings between the cross-rails i, i forming part of the frame of the table. The revolving box may be secured in one or the other position by means of a screw bolt m' guided in a nut n, which is secured to the underside of the top plate. The end of said screw engages corresponding depressions or notches in the box, so as to prevent its turning forward or backward, To secure the box in position, sliding bolts may be used if desirable. One side of the box is open and the bottom is secured at a suitable distance below so that the box presents an empty space av Well lined with zinc so that it can be used as a bath tub or vat for washing etc. The op osite side is similar to the side a but is divi ed by a partition so that two smaller vats I), also lined with Zinc, may be turned up to the top, and present basins for washing and rinsing dishes. One of the pivots f is perforated and tubes h are inserted into the perforations, extending through the end wall of the box and the sheet metal lining. This arrangement permits of easily drawing oif the water from the basins a or The two remaining sides of the box are closed, one side by a thick board c with raised edges, so as to be used for cutting vegetables, hacking meat and similar operations. The opposite side is smoothly planed and when turned upward is in line with the face of the table so that the top offers one flush surface.

Having thus described my invention what I claim is:

1. A table in combination with a revoluble box longitudinally journaled in the frame of said table, and of a square cross-section having two opposite sides open, divided by a middle partition, and having the other two sides closed, substantially as described.

2. A table in combination with a revoluble box longitudinally journaled in the frame of said table, and of a square cross-section, having two opposite sides open divided by a partition, and having outlet pipes secured in one of the pivots, extending to the inner space of the box at or near the separating middle partition.
