PHONOGRAPH -HORN SUPPORT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 18, 1907.
Application filed January 16, 1907. Serial No. 352,538.
5 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEWIS P. HALLADAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Streator, in the county of Lasalle, State of. Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Phonograph-HornSupports, of which the following is aspecification.
My invention relates to phonograph horn supportsand it is illustrated in the accompanying drawing wherein the figure shows an end and part sectional view of a phonograph apparatus containing my invention.
In the drawing A is the case from which the cover and phonograph mechanism have been removed.
B is the top of the case projecting preferably at B and B C is an arm which preferably lies across the top of the case and is hooked at C to engage the part B This arm is upwardly turned at C to carry the supporting ring C for the sound conveyer C and the horn C The details of this part of the mechanism are not further here described.
Downwardly projecting from the arm 0 is the part D through which passes the screw D having the thumb piece D The inner end of the screw D carries the clamping block E which is provided with a curved face to engage the edge B of the table top. By thus providing the horn support proper, or
upward ortion G with a clam in device P P g which bears on both sides of the case or the lid so as to distribute the weight of the horn around the case, I am able to get great strength and have a horn support which will be self contained. The weight of mechanism comes over the middle of the case, or at least is carried by the top of the case and the weight of'the horn on the part which supports it is thus thrown under the weight of the mechanism.
I claim:
As a new article of manufacture, a phono graph horn support comprising a rigid arm provided at one end with an outer hook shaped portion to clasp the edge of the table and adapted to extend across the box, and having an upwardly projecting portion at the other end" thereof carrying a horn supporting ring, a threaded sleeve on the bottom of the arm beneath the upwardly projecting portion, a horizontally arranged screw threaded rod working therein, and a clamp on the inner end of the rod adapted to engage the edge of the top of the tableopposite the edge engaged by the hook, substantially as described.
