Patented June 4, 1907.
Application filed November 19, 1904. Serial No. 233,444.
T all whom t may concern,.-
Be it known that I, DARIUs C. PINGREY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Janesville, in the county of Bremer, State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Games; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to games and more particularly to those played upony specially arranged boards, and has for its object to provide a board with played, marbles or similar articles being used in connection therewith.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description, and it will be understood that modifications of the specific construction shown may be made, and any suitable materials may be used without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawings forming a portion of this specification, and in which likenumerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views, Figure l is a perspective view of the invention. Fig. 2 is a section taken transversely of the board and longitudinally of the central division.v f
Referring now to the drawings, the present invention comprises a board 5 which is of oblong shape and which is provided with upwardly extending sides 6 and ends 7. The board is divided transversely into two divisions 8 and 9 by a-central division piece 10, secured at its ends to the sides 6 and resting with its lower edge against the board 5. The lower edge of the division piece is provided with a plurality of spaced notches 11, each of which a game may be which is of a size and shape to receive a marble or other small sphere therewithin, and the board 5 is provided with a plurality of depressions 12 in its upper face, one lying below each of the notches 11, and arranged for the reception of spheres 13 to prevent their accidental dislodgment from within the notches.
In playing the game, a sphere 13 is dis- 4 posed in each of the depressions 12. Two
other spheres 14 are employed and are disposed one in each of the divisions S and 9 of the board, and these spheres are shot or otherwise impelled by the players in the direction ofthe division piece' 10, the object being to cause the spheres 14 to dislodge the spheres 13 from their positions, and the player dislodging the larger number of spheres wins the game.
What is claimed is A game-board comprising a base-board having a series of concavities located at the transverse middle thereof, vertical sides secured tothe edges of said board and extending above the same and throughout the entire length thereof and a division piece secured at its ends to the said sides and resting with its lower edges upon the upper face of said board, said division piece being provided in its lower edge with a series of arch notches in registration with the said concavities in the board, the said board being free of obstructions upon either side of said division piece` In testimony whereof, I aflix my signature, in presence of two witnesses.
