To all whom, it may concern.-

Be it known that I, Rronann Lows, a subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at No. 73 Colebrook street, Brunswick, in the British State 'of Victoria, Australia, accountant, have invented new and useful Improvements in Revolving or Rotary- Action Mazes, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a revolving or rotary action maze which has been designed to provide a form of amusement especially adapted for pleasure resorts and the like.

It is composed of a series or cluster of vertical cylindrical casings arranged in a suit able inclosure, each casing having an opening or doorway at its side to lead to within same, and each independently supported in upper and lower bearings so that each casing can be rotated in either direction at pleasure by those passing through the maze.

The invention will be fully described aided by a reference to the accompanying sheet of drawings in which Figure 1 is a sectional plan of the maze taken from line a c Fig. 2, and Fig. 2 an end view of same with the end Wall of inclosure removed, while Fig. 3 is a central vertical section of one of the cylindrical casings.

In constructing the maze according to my invention each cylindrical casing A is provided with an opening or doorway A and a per pivot or journal at is usually formed at top end of a bow frame a secured to the top end of the cylindrical casing A, and passes to a bearing carried on one of the cross beams a, while the lower journal usually takes the form or a pintle and footstep a the latter secured to a floor plate. The said cylindrical casings A are vertically supported at such a distance apart that their outer surfaces or peripheries lie fairly close to one another and cluster er may any desired form provided they are so arranged that the l person passing through the maze can rotate the one next the opening in the cylindrical casing within which he is standing in order that he may p ass from one casing A through the doorways A to the other casing in wending his way through the maze.

The whole of the cluster or series of cylindrical casings A are inclosed in a suitable inclosure B which may be provided with a turnstile exit I) at one end and entrance doors I) at the other end, said inclosure may be of any suitable design, while also the casings maybe of a polygonal section in place of being circular. Further a gallery or overhead platform C is usually arranged around the top of inclosure B containing the series or cluster of cylinders A so that persons may be admitted thereto to watch those passing through the maze. Suitable stairways leading to said platform C being provided.

Having now described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a maze a series or cluster of vertical cylindrical casings each having an opening or doorway in its side and a closed bottom or floor and each mounted so as to be independently rotated.

2. In a maze, a casing having a door-way therein and an open top, a fioor in said casing, a lower bearing for said casing, a journal frame secured to the top of the casing and an upper journal on said frame.

3. A revolving or rotary action maze composed of a series orcluster of vertical cylindrical casings rotatably supported in a suit able inclosure said casings having openings therein substantially as described and shown.
