1. The combination with a concrete tie, ot

The combination with a concrete tie and a reinforcing plate embedded therein and provided with terminal wedge braces and intermediate. oppositely disposed sockets, ot kevs having toes to engage the sockets and heads to engage a raily base, and Wedges to engage with tie keys and with the Wedge braces.
4. The combination with a concrete tie provided in its upper face adjacent to its terminals with transversely-disposed seats having intermediate depressions, of rail cushioning elements engaging the seats and having intermediate projections to engage the depressions.
5. The combination with a concrete tie, of a reinforcing plate provided with terminal wedge braces and intermediate oppositelywholly inclosed by the tie.
o'. As a new article of manufacture, a reinforcing element for concrete railway ties, comprising a plate having terminal upstanding wedge braces and pairs of oppositely-disposed key sockets disposed adjacent thereto.
