Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented April 23, 1907.
Application filed August 6,1906. Serial No. 329,479.
T 0 all whom, it 'nmy concern.-
Be it known that I, ADoLPn PRINCE, a citii zen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Butter-Press and StampingMachine, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a device forstampmg and printing butter pats and the object of the invention is a device of this kindwhich will be very simple in construction and by means of which a number of butter pats may be pressed in a mould and printed at one time.
The invention consists of the novel fea tures hereinafter described, pointed out in the claims and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which,
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my device. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section.
In these drawings A represents a suitable base upon which is arranged two parallel guide bars B. A frame C is carried by these bars and comprises two vertical standards C, which extend above the frame at a point midway its ends and are connected at their upper ends by a cross piece C. A lever D, is pivoted at one end to an end of the frame C and extends between the standards C.
A presser board D is adapted to move vertically in the frameC and carries a central post D which is connected by a coil spring D to the cross piece C the lever D passing loosely between the spring and the upper end of the post D and bearing uponthe said upper end of the post.
A scraper E, is carried by the front end of l the frame 0. A board F serves as a mould base and is adapted to slide between the guides B. A mould consisting of sides I. and partitions F rests upon the base F and is looked to the same by hooks F which engage suitable eyes carried by the base F.
In operation the butter is placed in the compartments of the mould and the base F l is moved along the base board A, between the guides B into position beneath the presser 1 board D, which may have any suitable stamp formed upon its under face, and the lever D l l l l l l l l l i is depressed forcing the presser board upon the butter and packing it solidly in the compartments of the mould.
The scraper E removes any surplus amount 1 of the butter so that it will pass readily into position under the presser board. The presser board is braced by means of suitable brace guards D.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A device of the kind described comprising parallel guide bars, a frame carried thereby, a presser board movable vertically in the frame, a post carried by the presser board, a lever pivoted at one end to the frame and bearing upon said post, a mould base slidable between the guide bars, a mould carried by 1 said base, and a scraper arranged at the front I end of the frame as and for the purpose set forth.
ADOLPI-I PRINCE.
