To all whom it may concern:
B eit known'that I, JOHN H. BURKHOLDER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ashland, in the county of Ashland and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useiul Improvements in Lifting-Jacks, and do declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which willenablc others skilled in the art to which it a pertains to make and use the same.
y invention relates to lifting-jacks; and the invention consists in a lifting-'jack which is intended more particularly for automobiles and like heavy vehicles and in which both speed of adaptation and power in opera tion are desirable.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved lifting jack, and Fig. 2 is acentral sectional elevar ytion thereof. F igi 3 is a cross-section on the line'of the pivotof the operating-handle; and Fig. 4 is aside elevation, partially in section, of the means for 'reversing the direction of operation either up or down, as may be required.
