This means, as illustrated, consists of a doublepointedcamprojection 23, securedto the periphery of one of thetcam-disks on the-camshaft, which cam projection is arranged to actuate the-pawls 24 during the last portion of the revolution of the cam-shaft, so asto move the is ring-pressed lockin -pins'25 inwardly and disconnect the jac which has last been operated. The cam projection 23, the pawls 24, and the locking-pins 25 are constructed and arranged to operate as fully illustrated and described in the patent to .Vinkley, and Phillips, No; 540,223, dated May 28, 1895, with the exceptionthat the cam projection 23'is double-pointed and is thus adapted to actuate the pawls when the shaft rotates in either directionl It is desirable that the cam pro'ection 23 should pass beyond the pawls 24 before the rotation of the cam-shaft is stopped in order to allow a jack to be' connected to the actuating mechanism before the cam-shaft is again connected to its driving mechanism. To secure this result when the cam-shaft rotates in either direction, I have provided means for relatively adjusting the cam projection 23 and the projection 11 circumferentially of the cam-shaft. As shown in the drawings, this relative adjustment is secured by adjusting the cam projection 23, which is ad'ustably securedto the periphery of one of t e camdisks on the com-shaft by means of bolts l ing jack, shaft suitable connections for passing through slots in. a plate 26, formed in tegral with or secured to the pro ection 23.
