JOHN T. LANE, OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
COMBINED TROUSERS-BUTTON AND DRAWERS-SUPPORTER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
:atenteo. March 5, 1907,
Application filed October 18, 1905. Serial No. 283,268.
To (LZZ wiwvn it may concern.-
-Be it known that I, JOHN T. LANE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in a Combined TrousersButton and Drawers-Supporter, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in combined trousers-buttons and drawers-supports.
The object of my invention is to provide a novel means by which the drawers may be releasably supported upon the suspenderbuttons of a pair of trousers.
The novel features are hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, which illustrate my invention, Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view showing the two members attached, respectively, to the trousers and drawers, the member secured to the drawers being released from the member secured to the trousers. Fig. 2 is a view similar to Fig. 1, the members being shown in locked engagement with each other. Fig. 3 is a side view of the button. Fig. 4 is a view of the other side of the button. Fig. 5 is an outside view of the socket member.
Similar characters of reference denote similar parts.
The button member comprises two disks, preferably of metal and secured side by side, the outer disk 1 having centrally-disposed means for being secured to the inner side of the trousers 2, such means comprising, preferably, a central raised portion 3, having a plurality of perforations 4, adapted to receive therein the securing-threads.
The inner disk 5 is of smaller diameter than the outer disk and is preferably secured thereto by having the outer edge of the disk 1 formed over the eriphery of the disk 5. The disk 5 is provi ed on the side opposite the disk 1 with a central projection 6, preferably integral with the disk and having a knob-like end. To the drawers 7 is secured the member 8, comprising, preferably, a metal disk having a central expansible socket portion 9, adapted to receive therein and releas ably engage the knob-like end of the proj ection 6. The member 8 is provided, preferably, with means for securing to the drawers 7, consisting of a plurality of holes 10, disposed outside the socket portion 9 and adapted to receive therein the securing-threads.
It will of course be understood that the members 8 are positioned on the drawers adjacent the buttons to which the suspenders are attached, respectively. The suspenders are slipped each over the disk 1, adjacent thereto, in the manner common with the affixing of such devices. The socket members 8 are then slipped each into engagement with the projection 6, adjacent thereto, the parts being retained in engagement with each other by the resiliency of the socket portions of the members 8.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A combined trousers-button and drawers support comprising two members, one member having two disks disposed side by side, the outer edge of one being formed over the periphery of the other, one disk having a central raised portion provided with a plurality of perforations to receive the threads for securing the member to the trousers, the other disk having a central projection with'a knoblike end, said projection and central portion being on opposite sides of said member, the other member comprising a disk having a central raised resilient socket portion for receiving and releasably engaging the knoblike projection, said other member having circularly arranged outside the socket portion a plurality of perforations adapted to receive the tlneads for securing sai other member to the drawers.
In testimony whereof I afliX my signature in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
