To all whom t may concern,.-
Beit known that I, J oIIN FRANKLIN Goni., a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain Improvement-s in Brushes, of which the following is a description.
This invention relates to brushes having means for holding and feeding soap; and it comprises, essentially, a chamber for containing the soap, preferably in a capsule, apart having a passage for conveying it to the the passage. y
ln the accompanying drawing there is represented a longitudinal sectional view of a shaving-'brush illustrating a form of my invention.
In this drawing the holder 1 has fixed thereto the bristles 2 and contains a chamber 3 and a socket L1communicating with a nipple or passage 5, adapted for discharging fluid or cream soap to the bristles. The chamber receives a soap-containing capsule 6, having a neck 7, adapted tof fit or screw into the socket 4, the neck being closable'by means of a cap when the capsule is detached. The bottom of the capsule, closed when the capsule is detached, is opened when inserted to receive a piston or plunger 8, which is adapted to be moved into the capsule to force the soa therefrom through the neck and the nip e to the bristles. This iston is connected) by its shaft 9 with the ollow handle 10, having the internal screw-threads 11, which engage the external screw-threads 12 on the holder.
