To all whom it may concern,L
Be it known that I, S. J i! THOMAs, o f Dawson, in the county of Terrell, andfSt-ate of Georgia, have iuvented a new and useful Improvement in Water- Wheels; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in thearttmake and u se the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, which represents a perspective view of my invention.
This invention relates'to a new and useful mprovement in the buckets of water-wheels; and
Itconsistsinconstructing and arranging the buckets in sucha manner that the best possible eiect isobtained from the-reactive force ofthe water,
is the rim of the Wheel, or a portion thereof, and B representsA one of the buckets, whichis. inclined from a horizontal plane, and has its loiver part curved down rather abruptly, as shown clearly in the drawing at a Y Y The position of the adjoining or successive bucket is shown by the red line inthe drawing.
This form and position of the buckets admit of the ready discharge of the Water, and at the same time the buckets receive a large percentage of the reactive force of the Water.
