Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented J an. 8 1907.
Application filed November 13, 1905. Serial No. 287.158.
To aid whom it may concern:
Be it known that LJEAN SOUHEUR, manufacturer, of 1 Canal St. Pierre, Antwerp, Belgium, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Antinicotin-Mouthpieces, of which the following is a specification. I i This invention relates to smoking-tubes, and has for itsobject to rovide a simple means of preventing saliva om entering the bore of the tube.
A smoking-tube made inaccordance with 'my invention is provided with one or more holes which traverse the bore of the tube which is or are adapted to be within "the mouth when in use. 1
Referring now to the drawings, Fi re 1 is a longitudinal section of one-form o smoke tubemade in accordance with this invention. Fig. 2 is a plan thereof, and Figs. 3 and 4 are respectively a longitudinal section and a sec tional plan of a modified form.
. a is the stem of a smoking-tube. b is the c is an additional hole the mouth in use. The hole a may be of any desired shape or size; but I; prefer that the width thereof be twice -that of the smokebore b, so as to form awall (10, having an angleat e, as this arrests the flow of the saliva and' prevents it from passing down the smoke-bore b of the'smoking-tube.
The mouthpiece at g is flat, so as to prevent the tube from turning in themouth.
- In the form shown in F gs. 3 and4 a second additional hole It is disposedhorizontally and transversely of the stem a,'-so as to intersect the hole a and the wall (1 cf aty' 7c.- 'Thehole h may be of any shape incross-section; but it is preferably-circular andof.,the same diam eter as that of the bore of the pipe.--' An bubbles in the hole a are broken by the dra t through the hole e.
pipes, cigar and cigarette ho apertures, and it is well adapted for use for ders, and as all the saliva is kept from passing down the bore by the walld cf the pipe or holder remains sweet in use.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. An antinicotin-mouthpiece having. a bore intersected at right angles by a second bore of greater width, said intersection of bores forming a wall d e f havin an an le at e ada ted to arrest the flow of sa iva, su stantial y as set forth.
2. An antinicotin mouthpiece having a bore intersected at right ang es by a bore of greater width, and intersected by a third.
bore at right angles to said first and second bores, said intersection of bores forming 'awall d j and a wall is 6 having an'angle at e ada ted to arrest the ow of saliva, substantial y as set forth. v p
In witness whereof I have hereunto s1 ned my name in the presence of two subscri mg witnesses. I p
