ed certain new and useful Improvements in Hings and Brace-Bars for Folding Frames, of w ch the following is a specification.
lThe invention relates to hinges provided With a brace bar for connecting folding frames for transparent wind-shields for automobiles and the like; and the object of the improvements is to provide a frame composed of a lower and an upper member with a hinge and pivoted brace-bar'adapted to support the up er member andA allow it to be extended or fo ded upon the lower member, which is assumed to be stationarily mounted upon the vehicle.

The inner edge is provided with a groove, into which the glass may be slid previous to the application of the meeting members. The upper or folding member of the frame lies counter to the leaves of the hinge and is clamped to the frame-piece across the folding joint, so as to cooperate with the hinge' in forming a rigid support adapted to sustain the upper member of the frame against the air-pressure produced thereon by the movement of the vehicle.
What I claim isl. The hinge comprising pivoted leaves, ono of the leaves having a projecting pin and the other a threaded opening, in combination with a brace-bar pivoted at one end to the projecting pin of the hinge-leaf and having a perforation at the opposite end for a thumbscrew, as specified.
2. The combination with the folding :frame having opposite members each provided with a perforation, of a hin e having one member provided with a threa ed perforation and the 'other with a projecting pin adapted to the perforations of the frame; a
