three ounds; clay, two hundred pounds; alum, ve pounds; borax, fourpounds; sulfate of zinc, eight ounces; rosin, five pounds; Washing-soda, six ounces; gum-shellac, five ounces; laundry soap, two. bars; common salt, ten pounds, glucose, eight ouncesf In carrying out this invention five pounds of potato ulp, five vpounds of cornmeal,
three poun s of rice, five pounds of'alum,
four pounds of bora eight ounces of sulfate of zinc, five pounds of rosin, six ounces of 49 v v 5 com ound is then removed from the heat and washing-soda, five ounces of gum-shellac, two bars of laundry soap, ten pounds of com' mon salt, and eight ounces of glucose are to be thoroughlycommingled by heat and agitation, and when these elements are thoroughly commingled the compound is thickened by adding-two hundred pounds vof clay. sult of this will be that-ten tons ofculii coal5 '5- 5 slack, or the like mixed as above stated" is converted into ten tons of marketable coaljor fuel, which can be used in any ordinarystove, 'f boiler, or furnace, either for domestic or manufacturing purposes, and which will 6 0 have the same heat-giving, powers as that possessed by'the best grade of anthracite or 3 bituminous coal. The coal or: fuel will be smokeless, cinderless, and odorless, and er- 11 fectly clean to handle, being free from I net 651" and'all 'odors. r v I am aware that a composition of crude 'oil- 0r cake-meal, salt, and aceticacidhasbeen used for-the sanie'purpose; but I am not aware that all the ingredients of my; compo- 7o 'sition as set forth above have been .used together as a compound.
Iclaim as myinvention A co mpound consisting of, five pounds. of potato-pulp, five pounds of borax, eight ounces of sulfate of zinc, five minds of rosin, six ounces of wash-. ing-soda, ve ounces of gum-shellac, two bars of laundry soap, ten'pounds ofjcommon salt, a:
eight ounces of glucose, "and two hundred poundsof. clay, ,all in combination with ten tons of coal-slack, culin, or the like.
