The invention is not to be understood as restricted to the precise details of construction set forth, but may be modiied by the skilled mechanic wi hout departing from the spirit and scope oi the invention. i
Having thus described the invention, what l cls` im as newJ and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l?. The combination with a jar provided with a channel, a cover extended into said channel, and sealing material within the neck of the jar and between the cover and the jar.
2. The combination of a jar having a channel at its upper end, a cover having a rim or iiange extending into said channel, and sealing material such as para'liin, said channel being of sullcient capacity to contain a charge of said material which will pass into the jar and form an inner seal or wafer 'for the mouth of the jar.
3. The combination of a jar having a channel at its upper end, a cover having a rim or ilange extending into said channel. and sealing material such as para'lin, said channel being formed of sui'licient capacity to contain a charge of said material which will pass into the jar and form an inner seal or Wafer for the mouth of the jar and whereby a seal will be formed between the cover -lange and jarneck.
4. The combination with a jar having a reduced neck and an outer flange wherebetween a channel is formed, a cover having a flange or rim extending into said channel, and sealing material within the neck of the jar and between said iiange or rim and said neck.'
5. The combination with a jar provided with a channel, a cover extended into said channel, and sealing material within the neck of the jar and betweenthe cover and the jar, said jar being formed with a spout for directing the sealing material into said channel.
6. The combination with a jar provided with a channel at its upper end, la cover havin a rim or lange extending into said channe and sealing material such as' parai'lin in the mouth of the jar and between the coverflange and the neck of the jar, there being substantially no sealing material between the outer periphery of the cover-flange and the outer wall oi' the channel.
7. The combination with a jar provided with aneck and an outeriiange wherebetween a channel is formed, a cover having a rim or flange extended into said channel, and sealing material within the neck of the jar and between-said flange or rim, the top of said neck being higher than the outer flange of the 8. The combination with a jar having a channel at its upper end, a cover having a "rim or flange extending into said channel,
sealing material such as paralin formingan inner seal or wafer in the mouth ot the jar, a space being formed betweenA the neck of the jar and the cover-flange and whereby the lsealing material will pass therebetween and form a seal between the jar and the cover,I and means Jfor centrahzing the cover around the jar-neck.
