seem CLAMP AND sueeom* FOR REiNFGHCED CONCRETE FORMS.
No. s25,2e4.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 8, 1906.
Application filed February 10, 1905. Serial Ho. 245.001.
Te (cZZ whom it may emmm-n:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. DILLON, a ctizenof the United States, residing st 56 Trowbrid e avenue, in the city of Detroit, County o Wayne, 'and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Beam Clam and Support for Concrete Forms, of Whic the following is e specificaton.
The invention relates or mold support for beems or fioors in reinforced concrete Construction; and it consists in the novel and simple Construction of su eculiar formation of the molsupporting evices, and in other details of Construction, es will be more fully hereinafter set fol-th and illustmted. In the drewings, Figure 1 is an elevation of an embodiment of. my invention, showing the beam-box, fioor-3oist, and uprght sup porting post or member inplace. Fg. 2 is s side elevstion illustru ting the joist-seat on the besim-sup ort. Fig. 3 is e plan of the post-cup; sn %g 4 is a perspective view of the epparstus &sun use, the post being shown n section.
In the drawdngs thus briefly described, t represents an upright, which su 'ports the ot er perts of t e eppa'ratus. Ftted' upon the upright or post-to is e detacheble cep C, the Construction of W 'ch will be more fully hereinafter set forth, and extendng transversely of the cep and having` refersbly detechable connection therewti is the supporting member b, upon whichsre sup orted the mold-supporting devices or* mem ers A and B.
The cep referred to is formedlfrom a, single sheet-metal blank which is cut and shaped in such manner as to form a. top a', sides b', and ends composed ofcomplementary angleshaped sections c' d', speced epert, es indiczited in Figs. 3 and 4, andextendin at their upper ends beyond thecap-top. olts e', extendng through the lower portions of the angle-shzped sections described, hold the cep in place on the uprght, while similar bolts d are adspted to connect the cep to the trensverse supporting member b, previously referred to. This supporting member is preferebly in the form of a T-bar the Web portion of which' fits between the sections of the cep end is held in place by the bolts d, engaging r the cap and extendng throughth'e ber-web.
The mold- 1pportin members A and B are ndjusteble ongitud inally upon the bsn b to fit and support any size of mold, as D, n
euch support is compose generelly toe form I I a joist, as h, of the floor-form.
which the concrete is of a mein supporting section or side member, es a?, having e If sheped opening (1 formed in its lower por tion to ermit of the engagement With the T ber, on nclined brace-section b spaced at its lower end from the mein side section, and en intermediate member, as 6 supported by one or both of the sections, formng e seet for The intermediate portion or seat-section t is formed, preferubly, by an inte sl portion of the member b bent into per& lelismwith the main beam b' and riveted or otherwise Secured to the section ah laced. rreferabiy 7 The bruce-sections referred to are provided with inturned portions ai engaging beneath the fienge of the bar b, which serves to hold the parts in the main betim. For the'pur ose, however, of positively looking the mo d-supporting devices or members after a proper adjustment has been efiected ins, es a may be employed, extendng t ough the Web of the bar i and forming an ebutment or stop for the mold-supportng devices.
In the Construction of the buldin ratus set forth it will be obvioust et the parts muy be repdily detached, the post beprope' position .upon the ing removed from the cep by `forcing its lower end to one side to permit of its withdruwel, while thc'besm is detached from the cep and from the mold-supporting devices in the manner previously set forth. i
What I claim as my invention is 1. In building paratus of the character described, the co'mbmation With an upright,
of a transverse member supported thereon, and vertical mom-supporting devices upon the transverse member provided. with j0istseats.
2. In building a paratus of the character described', the 'com ma'tion with an upright, of a, transverse bar thereon, vertical moldsupporting devic'es'adjustebly mounted upon the bar, and oppositely extending support joist seets. 4
3. In building epparatus of the character described, the com mation with en upright, of a, detachable cep therefor, e transverse bar mounted upon and havin detachable connections With the cap, an adjustable mold-supporting devices or .members. upon the bar, f i 3 d I V I 4. 111 building epperttus of the' character ing members carried by said devices forming v rio described, the combinetion With an upright rovided at its upper end With a vertical orizontally-extending o ening, of a transverse member detachab arrenged within said opening, and complementary :hold-supporting devices mo'unted upon said member forlongitudinal adjustment.` y
5. In building apparetus of the character described, the combination With e vertical post, of e lon tudinaliy-slotted cap dete-chably mounted upon the upper end, a horizontai 'iF-bar arrenged upon the cep with its Web engaging the slot, securing devices engeng theccap and. the bar-Web, and adjust- :gb e mom-supporting members upon the T- 6. In building aparatus of the character described, the com i of a transverse member detachably mounhci described, the com of a detachebie cep thereon, e trensverse* thereon and mold-supporting devices. adjust'ably erranged upon said member.
7. In building agparetus of the character nation with en upright,
member su ported upon the cep, end mohisupporting evices upon said member.
8. In building apparetus of the character described, the combination of a transverse described, e mold-supporting device comprising a main uprght section, en inciined nation with an upright, A
Mace-section therefor, and en intermediate 40 .seat member connecting the lower portions of the main and breee sections and adapted to receive lonitudinall y thereof a joist.
11. In buil ing &pp aratus of the, character described, the combination With an uprght,
of a cep upon its upper end, a trensverse bar supporting and havin detachable connections with the cap, en mom-supporting vices upon said ber.
12. in. building a 'paratus of the character described, the com inetion With en upri ht and e cep thereicr comprising-e top, 'si es, and ends for-med of speced angle-sections errtending beyond the top,`the sections being arranged With the openings or spaces in a'line- Inent.
i& in building apparatus of the character described, e post-cep formed from a single sheet of metal comprsing e top, sides, and ende having com lementery spaced sections extending be on the cep-top.
14. In bui ding apparetus of the character described, the combinetion with an upright, of a detechable sheet-metal cep 'for its upper end .comprising a top, sides and ends composedof spaced angle-shaped. sections ex tendin'g upwardly beyond the top, a transverse bar arrenged between the cep extensions, end compiernentery mold-supporting members mounted upon the bar for longitudinai edjustnent.
in testimony Whereof I have signed my name 'to this specificetion in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM H. DILLON.
