Description
PATENTED JUNE 26, 1906- WQELOOB. PACKAGE ROLL OP METALLIC LEAF.
APPLICATION FILED AUG- 2.1905.
INVENT I IIR ATTY.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFIOE.
PACKAGE-ROLL OF METALLIC LEAF.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 26, 1906.
Application filed August 2, 1905. Serial No. 272,448.
To all whmn it nut/y concern:
Be it known that I, WALTER H. Con, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the State of Rhode Island, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Package-Rolls of Metallic Leaf, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a package-roll of metallic leaf adapted for manufacturing urposes in which the metallic leaf is so he d that it may be unwound from the roll and extended with great rapidity over a table with no liability whatever of having the said fillet drawn from the delivering paper strip and carried around the periphery of the rapidly-unwinding packageroll; and my invention consists in a package roll of metallic leaf in which the fillet of metallic leaf is held between two strips of paper, and thus prevented from liability of displacement when the roll is being rapidly unwound to expose the fillet of metallic leaf in an extended condition for decorative use.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents an enlarged side view of a artially-unwound package-roll of metallic leaf embodying my improvement, the spiral windings of the said roll being separated from each other in order to show the specific construction involved in the invention. Fig. 2
represents an axial section of the packageroll shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 represents an enlarged edge view of the package-roll and a face view of the unwound portion of the fillet of metallic leaf and the two paper strips.
In the drawings, A represents the core, upon which the paper strlps a and b and the intermediate fillet of metallic leaf 0 is Wound, the said fillet of metallic leaf being represented by the dotted line, while the paper strips are represented by the full lines, the package-rolls so formed being especially desirable for putting up sheets of aluminium or slag metal.
When an extended length of the paper strips and fillet of metallic leaf has been unwound from the ackage-roll, the coveringstrip of paper wil on account of its resulting loosened condition be readily removed from the fillet of metallic leaf.
I claim as my invention- A package-roll of metallic leaf in which the fillet of metallic leaf is wound between two paper strips, from which the metallic leaf is adapted for ready removal for use when unwound from the roll.
