To ALL WHOM IT MAY oonoun'm Be it known that I, NATHANIEL S. UNDERKUEFLER, of Norritonville, in the county of Montgomery, and in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Sausage-Strider and Lard-Press; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, refer-" ence being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in the general arrangement of a combined sausage-stufl'er and lardpress, but more particularly in the working of the follower, and in the mode of securing the difi'erent vessels 'to the table.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make andnse the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which- Figure 1 is a front view of the whole machine.

Figure 4 is a view of the lower end of the lever-standard.
A represents stable or bench, made of suitable size and material, resting on legs B B. One end of this table is provided with a slot, in which the lower end of the standard, (1,,is inserted.
This standard is cut with a shoulder and tenon, D, on its lower end, one side of said tenon being cut with a. square notch, 11, of the same lcngth'ns the thickness of the table.
A slot, b, is also cut through the said tenon, at a suitabledistanee from the shoulder, so that the upper end of said slot will not come below the table when the standard is inserted.

A bolt, i, passes through the said slotted end of the arm F, and through 'the circular projection, e, thus pivoting the arm to the lever, and this end of said arm is rounded, corresponding with a circular groove ernotch in the lever E, on each side of the projection c. It will be seen, by this arrangement, that, when the follower on the lower end of the arm F is pressed downward by the lever E, the pressure is not upon the bolt 2', but directly on the arm F.
The upper side of the table A is, directly under the arm F, provided witha dove-tailed recess, as shown in fig. 3, inwhieh recess a block, G, is made to fit. On this block is firmly secured the sausage-reservoir, H, '50 that it will stand firmly while being used, but can easily be removed by slipping the block G out of its recess, the sides of said blockpbeing of course bevelled ina manner to correspond with the dove-tailed sides-of said recess. The sausage-reservoir H is a vessel made of any suitable material, of such size that the follower will pass freely, but at thesame t ime snugly, up and down in the saine,-and on its side, near the bottom, is a tube, 1, leading outward and downward, as shown in fig. 2, through which the sausage-meat is pressed by the action of the lever E on'the arm F and its follower. l

A flange extends all around thehottom of said vessel, which also fitsin the dove-tailed recess on the table A, so that, when the block G is removed, it can be inserted and held firmly while it is used.
The inner vessel, L, is nothing more then a perforated cylinder, of suitable size to leave a space between it and the outer vessel, when placed in the same, and. to let the follower not properly inside of the same.
The upper edge of the outer vessel is bent inward, and the upper edge of the inner is provided with a flange inclining outwards, which rests on the former, holding the inner vessel in proper position.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to vsecure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the vessels H and J, constructed as specified, and connected, within the dove-tailed recess in the table, with the'stnndard O, lever E, and follower F, all as herein shown and specified. I
