State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Syrup j This invention relates to improvements in attachments to syrup-pitchers, and has for its object to provide a slmply constructed and automatically-operatingdevice whereby all tendency of the syrup to drip over the edge of the rim orpourin'g-spout is obviated, and to arrange the device so that it can be readilyremoved for cleaning or for other puroses.

In a syrup-pitcher, a neck member hav- IIO ing an inwardly-extending flange a lid hinged to said neck and provided with an eye-loop, spaced ears transversely apertured and eX- tending from said flange, a resilient lip disposed between said ears and bearing upon said flange, a resilient bail having outturned ends extending through said lip and forming pintles for passing through said ears, and an arm movably engaging said bail at one end 10 and terminating in a hook at the other end for detachable engagement with loop-eye of said lid.
