PATENTBD rms. 1s, i906. f
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFIOE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 13, 1906.
Application filed January 12, 1904. Serial No. 188,680.
To cir/ZZ whom, it nca/y con/cern:
Be it known that I, HERMANN Roos'r, a citizen of the Republic of Switzerland, and aresident of St. Imier, Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Watches, of which the following is a specification.
A representative example of the form of execution of the regulatonarin which consti* tutes the object of this invention is shown in the inclosed drawings, in 'which- Figure l is a plan view, seen from above, and Fig. 2 an elevation.
Disk A, having an eccentric opening E, is loosely sunk and iitted in a circular cavity O, provided in the cock. It will be observed that the disk A, which is loosely sunk in its cavity and not pivoted, is confined in the cavity by the arm ofthe regulator which extends over this disk A and also by the spring R, bearing against this arm and also extending over the disk. Arm r of regulator D is provided with a pin e, which penetrates into the eccentric opening E, and which, being controlled by spring R, tends constantly to press` against the side of this opening. Disk A carries a division on its circumference, and the cock is slightly hollowed at a and a', so that diskcan be turned by means of any tool, or even with a finger-na1l, in one or in the other direction, the regulator being thus caused to turn in the desired direction, so that the watch is regulated. The guide itself-that is to say, disk A-being sunk in the cavity of the cock, it is possible to reduce the height of the watch-movement to which it is applied. Moreover, its operation is very simple.
The various parts of this regulator, as well as those of the cock to which the guide is applied, may vary as regards forms and dimensions.
I claim In a watchemovement, the combination witha cock having a circular recess formed in its upper surface, of a disk resting loosely in said recess, which disk has an eccentric opening, a regulator pivoted to said cock and having an arm which extends loosely over said disk, a pin fixed at the end of said arm and eX- tending into the opening in the disk, a spring attached to the cock and bearing against the arm, thereby pressing the pin on the end of the arm against the edge of the opening in the disk, said spring also extending over the upper surface ofthe disk, said spring and arm holding the disk in the recess the cock having a portion on each side of the recess cut away to afford access to the disk, substantially as set forth. h
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
HERMANN ROOST.
