To (LN 11.41.0112 it may concern.-
Be it known that l, GUs'rAv A. BrsLER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and use ful Candyd-Iolder, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of a device which is adapted to hold pieces of candy, avoiding adhesion of the pieces and obviating the employment of wrappers therefor.
It further consists of" novel features of construction, all as will be hereinafter fully set forth.
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a portion of a blank from which is formed a separator embodyinginy invention. Fig. 2 represents a perspective view of a portion of the separator in operative position. l ig. 3 represents a sectional view on line 1 '3] of h ig. 2. Fig. 4 represents a sectional view on line a: m, Fig. 2.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the figures.
Referring to the drawin "s, A designates a ortion of a blank iromw iich the holder is "ormed and which can be of any desired size depending u on the number of individual ieces inten ed to be contained in a box.
he blank consists of the body portion B, from which. extends the tabs or flaps C at suitable intervals from each side thereof, and at substantially the point where the said tabs C join the body portion is provided a suitable scored line I).
E desi mites a scored line adjacent one side whic 1 permits the portion h of the blank to be bentn as best seen in Fig. 2. At a point on the ody portion substantially mid way between adaoent tabs C is a scored line G, which entails across the blank, while on each side of said line G are the scored lines H and J, extending across the blank, said scores rendering it easy to bend the blank in such a manner as to term a partition K, as
seen in Fig. 2..
L designates snitably-shaped ieces or tongues which are cut from the b ank, ex cepting along the lines M, which are scored. for ease of bending up the said pieces L, it being seen that when each of the said pieces L is bent up a corresponding opening N is formed in the blank; but by reason of the adjacent lip P, which is not out, the candy is prevented from coming in contact withthe support for the holder, since the same will Patented. Feb. 6, 190B.
rest upon the said lip P and portion Q of the blank, as will best be understood from Fig. d.
The operation of placing the blank in-oper ative position will be readily seen. The por tion F of the blank is turned up along the scored line E, after which one of the anti. tions K is formed by first bending the lanl:
along the lines G and then along the lines H v and J, thus forming the partition K, as seen in Figs. 2 and 3, it being understood that this operation of forming partitions may be con tinued to any required distance along the blank, depending upon the size desired. The tongues L are then bent up into the position seen in Fig. 2 and the tabs 0 likewisebent,
so that spaces are formed for a caramel or which will come within the scope of my in vention, and i do not, therefore, desire to be limited in every instance to the exact construction herein shown and described.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is
1. A candy-holder having apertured bottone with lips integral with the bottom and extending; into said a'riertures, integral tongues at an angle to sai bottom and a Jettured with the apertures complemental to said lips, said ton nes being complemental to the apertures of t. is bottom.
2. A candy-holder comprising partitions formed by intermediate portions of the blank and extending from one side of the holder to the other, into ral tabs forming the sides of the holder, an tongues extending upwardly between the partitions, said tongues and the bottom of the holder being aperturcd, the
apertures of the bottom being complementaryto thelon ues. i
3. A candyiolder comprising partitions formed by intermediate portions of the blank and extending from one side of the holder to the other, into ral tabs forming the sides of the holder, an tongues extending upwardly between the partitions, said tongues and the bottom of the holder being apertured, the
apertures 0f the bolloni being complementhe bmltom and sm'nmndecl by lne aperlures ilk-red.
